The Difference Amongst Yoruba, Edekiri and Ijebu People

Nobody is Yoruba by tribe or ethnicity. The word 'Yoruba' is a made up word that did not exist until Bishop Samuel Ajayi-Crowther introduced it. It is a corruption of a Fulani word, and if I say the meaning of that word, I may offend my readers. So I will hold my peace.

The real name of the people wrongly called Yoruba is Edekiri. And they were like the ancient Israelites, in that the Edekiri had tribes of which Egba, Owu, Oyo, Igbomina, Ilaje, Ekiti, Awori, Ikare, Igala (yes, it will surprise you to note that Igala are Edekiri) and several other tribes.

Another thing that may surprise you is that Ijebu are not Yoruba (Edekiri). They have their distinct origin, which goes back to the biblical kingdom of Jebu, which you can find in Scripture.

As for the celebrity lawyer, he needs to influence his clients out of trouble. After this guy was released, a sensible lawyer would have advised him to desist and not even engage in innuendos, but not the dude who uses these people to build his profile. It is similar to the Bolt driver assaulted by a member of the house of representatives. While the celebrity lawyer was in court trying to get the person who assaulted his client to pay heavily, the client was said to have gone to the assaulter's house with his brother to eat chicken and collect AC, as well as ikebelicious babes.

A lawyer who cannot influence his clients should just remain an activist: a public nuisance without ethics in genuine activism.

Earlier this year, JJ Emejulu was arrested by a combined team of Nigerian Airforce and Nigerian Police, Enugu Airport Division on 14th January 2024 for breaking part of Akanu Ibiam Airport, Enugu with the help of thugs.

The notorious land grabber who parades himself as an architect was immediately charged to court and remanded in prison until he was reportedly released on bail around September 2024.

Today, 12th December 2024, he again attacked houses of residents in an estate close to the airport and was caught on tape saying that he will destroy the airport and claim the land it was built on. He came with over 100 thugs and masked policemen (see photos). It took a combined force of Nigerian Airforce and other military to halt him from demolishing people's properties today. His thugs were spotted looting and carting away people's properties and belongings while his bulldozer was demolishing houses.
