I have been there.
When ridicule, failure or downfall keep staring you in the face helplessly, ending it all might appear just the shorter option.

But remember dear, we have all learnt through life that the shorter way is not usually the right or safest way out. It is indeed the longest or in fact a no-way to succour, because in the end, the problem, the people and circumstances have not disappeared, you have only managed to delete your very promising self. In which case, You would have lost it here and most likely hereafter.

I can only recommend the way I took which helped me out:
- Embrace Christ: What brings suicidal thought is not the problem itself, but the loss of peace when you remember the situation you are in. And I can guarantee you, there is a toltal peace that comes when we yield to the Saviour and allow Him bear the burdens. THIS IS REAL, NOT IMAGINARY please! Even if the problem doesn't vanish like drastically, you are guaranteed inner comfort, an infallible lead per time and a sure companion.
- Brace up for the worst: I agree that if nothing is done about the continued pile up of your debt, it may spell terrible consequences e.g incarceration,
loss of collateral properties and reputation, physical harm etc. all these I have had to be confronted with. Yes, but it won't likely be death.
- Like right now, withdraw from everything you can't control or safeguard e.g your good name, people's reation if the worst happens etc
-Dwell On the Minors - There are some very little legitimate things that has always given you bits of happiness. Please do them if possible
- Approach the debt from the littlest: Looking at a mountain from the peak would discourage even the best climber, but the real victory starts in pacing along right from the very foot

Remember: It not over until God says it is, and certainily you are still here only because He hasn't said it is over.

First of all my brother, I am happy that you agree that the spiritual is real. And that it is very crucial to every human existence.

Sincerely, I can never forget Nairaland.
During the harsh days of Covid, I started a business and did my advers solely here on Nairaland, of course for free.

No Op, in fact the opposite. I believe they are also facing this harsh economy with the rest of us. BUT Sincerely, they may be seeing what the rest of us are not seeing. So if the president had performed much better, they would still find cause to hate him due to their common identity. U know na, due - inordinate ethnic obsession.

Or possibly also, they have been able to peep into the anticidents of other eminent critics and actors and saw that Tunubu's anticidents spoke of more enduring deliverables than the others - Like Lastma, Eko Atlantic, LCDA etc

So OP my dear, once in a while, why not let's peep beyond our horizon. It may be that a so called Bad Leader of today, somehow somehow will be discovered to have meant well all the while.
Afterall, the man who has suddenly become our HERO today was cursed, pelted with stones, ran to Lagos from Anambra stater after his tenure because of the very terrible policies he is doing all his best to reimplement if he had the slightest chance into Aso Rock
