In this case, dialogue would be meant for Canada to reduce it’s tariffs on the US or reduce its trade with the US their number one trade destination as Canada is the one enjoying trade surplus which is not fair to the US. There should be trade balance between the two countries which Canada doesn’t want because through their trade surplus the US single handedly subsidizes Canada economy. Thats why Trump said if Canada survival depends on unfair trade with the US, they should become 51st state of the US . By so doing, they won’t have to pay any tariffs again

Now the US is saying, since you don’t want to reduce tariffs on us or balance the trade between us , we will have to do the needful to balance the unfair trade by Canada.

That’s the only thing dialogue can produce and which Canada doesn’t want. They believe since the US is a bigger economy, the US should take all their shit while they become the crying baby looking for sympathy but doesn’t want to do what’s fair for both parties because it benefits him.

The US doesn’t need Canada. Canada needs the US for economic survival. That’s exactly what’s going on that most of you don’t understand
