The Ngwo Pine Forest is a popular tourist destination in Nigeria for picnics and meditation considering its beautiful canopy tent of pine trees. The shade of Ngwo Pine Forest is heavenly, the serenity is peaceful and pleasing atmosphere sound for the soul. Yes, the forest is the only ‘nature area near me‘ of pine trees in Nigeria open for sightseeing. The tall trees forming an array in a neat row at the foot of the forest. And that was me on the slopes of the Milliken Hill road Enugu, a green road following a winding course up the hill behind the ancient coal city center. The drive to the site in itself is a nature roller coaster ride showcasing the beautiful green area of Enugu metropolis. You want to visit Ngwo Pine Forest from October to March, during the dry season when the foot of the forest is neat and not grassy. There is a whole world out there waiting to be explored. Nature is beautiful and we should make out time to appreciate it. I hereby call for, no beg! to stop the felling of trees at the site. The forest is located in the town of Ngwo near the center of Enugu. It hosts a limestone cave sculpted with a small waterfall that forms a shallow pool at the bed of the cave. Things to take along when visiting are your camera, mat, picnic basket and climbing gears if you choose to climb and explore the cave beneath.
