Career › Unburden Yourself Today.. Read What Happened To Me This Evening. by TimeArena1(op): 9:52pm On May 29, 2024

Some days ago, my mother came back home with a lot of pumpkin leaves from her friend's farm.

We were supposed to make soup with it, but we later scheduled the cooking for some other time.

I used some to make yam porridge, but a chunk of it was still lying helplessly in the kitchen.

This morning, I checked their state and discovered that they were still okay, so I washed them and decided that I was going to juice them later this evening.

On my way home, I bought two cucumbers and two apples and decided to add them to the pumpkin to make juice.

Got home, and there was light.

I hurriedly started plucking the vegetables into the blender because I knew the light would soon go off since the cloud was already gathering.

I washed the cucumber and apples, cut them into tiny bits, and transferred everything into the blender that was already having the vegetables.

I poured in a little above 50cl of water and turned on the blender.

It blended for some seconds, and I could smell something burning.

I wasn't sure if it was the blender, so I checked round the kitchen, and everything was OK.

I turned off the blender and checked the engine underneath the jug, and it was smelling.

It was already raining, and I knew the light would go out anytime soon, so i fixed it back to the main engine and turned it on hoping it would finish blending before i check the cause of the burning smell. It blended for 10 seconds and stopped working.

At this point, I was already scared because I couldn't imagine the blender going bad in this economy, so I changed it from that wall socket to another, and it still didn't work.

I was still trying to wrap my head around what was happening when the light went off.

I was sad because I didn't even know how much it cost to repair blenders, and getting a new one would cost over 50k in this present Nigeria.

I was also angry at myself for deciding to make juice.
It would have been better if the vegetables had gone bad than the blender.

I packed everything to the dining area and decided to try again when I put on the Gen set later.

Whilst making dinner and even bathing, I was praying the blender would work when I put on the Gen.

As I was sitting awaiting 8pm when I was supposed to put on the Gen, I felt a nudge in my spirit to go carry the blending jug.
I obeyed and went, and as I raised the jug, i realized it was very heavy.

Then it dawned on me that the problem was the weight on the blender.

I turned on the Gen immediately and shared the content of the jug into three parts and tried blending one part, and it worked seamlessly.

Oh!! Because I was in a hurry, I put in more than the blender's capacity hence it stopped working.....

As humans, we sometimes tend to overburden ourselves with tasks or mental weight, which later leaves us in a static or exhausted state.

Burdening yourself with too many tasks won't make you successful. Rather, it would exhuaust, limit you or even make you stop working altogether.

My dear, it's time to unburden yourself because logically, you can't run fast when you are strapping 4 or more heavily loaded bags to your back.

Just like I did with the content in the blending jug, share the weight on yourself and handle them one after the other.

You won't only work better when the weight is light, you will work faster and smarter.

Also, shed the weight on your mind.
Mental weight is the cause of those incessant headaches, gloominess, anxiety, and even sickness.

Overburdening yourself will burn you out.

Just like i stubbornly did even when i could smell the blender burning, some of us are so strong willed that even when we start sensing dangers to our health as a result of overburdening, we still try to finish up the task at hand, which later leaves us totally burned out.

Take a decision to unburden yourself today by handling tasks in order of their importance..
