I'm super close friends with my high school friends. They're are my real support system. In fact, I'm on my way to a pepper soup joint to meet two of them now. It also depends on the type of secondary school one attended.
I can only say the above for just one of my university course mates.
Man grew up in Nigeria and I expect him to be more emotionally tough.
He attended Portland State University, Oregon and did his residency at Baltimore. I think he should have more friends at Baltimore.

Nigerians who were born there or even relocated as little kids to the USA hardly return to Nigeria, as they hardly have any friends or social ties in Nigeria. Infact they can only be forced to come home once in a while by their parents (if they are still alive).

Only those who had college (Tertiary) education in Nigeria before relocating to the US, would likely return to Nigeria every year or at least Bi-annually.
