Emilokan as thief man saw what was going on and stopped funding of that refinery with our forex but the damage to our currency had already been done. Total loss of trust in our currency had led to massive hoarding of dollars and scarcity which affected the naira that even floating of naira by tinubu couldn’t salvage the problem. Same dangote moved again by trying to push independent petroleum marketers out of business, import fuel and sell to Nigerians at higher price by using his uncompleted refinery as a conduit pipe to get forex. He showed his hand again and Emilokan saw it when he demanded for billions of dollars to import crude, now he is going to Angola to be a partial owner of a working refinery

The above is why we do not have constant power supply. And why we have shitty power. And why we have blackouts.

Plus, with debt service rising again, government can't afford subsides for power.

Essentially nnpc is struggling to pay for the subsidy that the tinubu government has been forcing it to pay since 2023 October.

As a result, they are using every spare bit of money that they have to fund subsides which means that they cannot afford to buy fuel or import fuel.

Thus they cannot sell to market and hence the backlog.

Meanwhile buying from dangote means that fuel would hit 1200 or more. Apc does not want that because it means their already dead chances of winning in 2027 have gotten even worse than dead.

So the subsidy charade continues, fuelled by Nigerians who want cheap fuel at any cost.

Like I said, Nigerian politicians will sacrifice the economy and dangote refinery to Molech if Molech gives them one extra hour of power

Well, we would still import for some time, since it is going to take time for the refineries to come on line, but I guess that eventually fuel would flow without issues.

The 'downside' is that it would be expensive. But that's sadly a harsh truth.

The thing is, subsidy has to go totally. Yes, it means we will sell fuel at N1500 , maybe N1700 per liter. Yes, you can abuse me all day long.......but the problem we have with petrol in Nigeria started when someone thought it would be a good idea to help the poor by selling at a price below the production cost of one liter of fuel

Forget which party you support....you cannot bake a loaf of bread at N1000 and then come and sell it at N200 ....and be happy you helped the poor...meanwhile the losses you are sustaining.

Maintaing subsidy costs a lot of money, is rife with corruption, and costs a lot of money. It is better we ended the subsidy trap, and faced reality
