Money Remittance Authorities of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have blocked €325,640 Euros and another $30,000 (around 170 million naira) carried into the nation from Greece and Austria. The cash believed to have been laundered was full inside envelopes and shoes. Agents grabbed the cash at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos amid the internal screening of travelers on a Turkish carrier flight. Two suspects have been captured regarding the smuggled currencies, as per the NDLEA leader at the Lagos air terminal, Ahmadu Garba. The suspects, Edos Nicholas and Hallowell Prince Lovely, both Edo indigenes guaranteed that the cash was given to them by a few people to hand over to their Nigeria-based relations. NDLEA Head of Public Affairs, Ofoyeju Mitchell, in an announcement cited the airplane terminal officer as unveiling that the cash was found during routine search of travelers. Director/Chief Executive of the NDLEA Col. Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (retd) coordinated the Director of Assets and Financial Investigation of the Agency, Mrs Victoria Egbase to assume control over the investigation. In the interim, a Federal High Court sitting in Ado- Ekiti on Thursday remanded an ex-convict, Tope Adedayo,in prison for storming NDLEA office and demanding to kill two officials of the agency.
