Bosses in the house, I took a GBP/USD trade that aligned with my trend trading strategy but unfortunately it went the other way after USD NFP news this afternoon. Pls what do you suggest I do when such high impact news are around even when my strategy clearly says buy/sell at that moment.

Pls I need your personal input; what you personally do when such a thing occurs. Thanks.

If you're using lower timeframes, then y you should be mindful of high impact news but if you're using daily TF, then don't worry about news impact and as kingpipmarshall said you can't always win it all. So each trade you take ensure use risk what you're comfortable with losing and never ever get to emotionally attached to any trade. Money is actually made on the long run.

My broda, I just simply use S/R lines, trends and channels on the weekly then drill down to daily to find entry signals. Because I only use daily TF I don't spend up to 20mins daily on charts that's why I have more than enough time to play .

Yes (at least for me) although some people may use other means like a breakout as their signal.

For example, from the weekly chart, price has been in a descending channel and has rejected the114.00 level a couple of times(trend is down). Now when you drill down to the daily timeframe, you see price approaching that level again and it also shows clearly the previous rejected level(key resistance level). now all you need do is wait to see a sell signal (I personally use pinbars and fakeys) (signal). once that happen,its a go for me.

I have been practicing price action for over 3 month now using 3 simple moving averages but it doesn't seems like it is working

Try using TLS (trend,level and signal)
First learn to have a view of the overall trend, then wait for prices to reach an important level then wait for a signal.

There is no such thing as the best strategy, as a beginner focus on understanding price action and money management and as you start demo trading you will get experience on what works best and what doesn't including the trading style that fits your schedule.

The GBPAUD ended the week rejecting the weekly trendline(s). What got my attention was the fact that on the weekly chart, price formed a fakey setup while on the daily timeframe a tail bar was also formed.
I will buy at the open of the market with SL below the tail bar and TP open.

The market took out my stop and is forming another fakey signal on the daily TF., I'd set my 50% buy limit on the market close.

Meanwhile I'm also setting another 50% sell on today's close of EURGBP fakey signal at resistance with TP 0.8685.

On my own weekly and daily chart price hasn't breached the trendline. But even if price decides to go down, I'm not worried because every trade is a 50:50 chance no matter how perfect the setup looks. I draw my lines and wait for prices to tell me to buy or sell and if I lose the trade, I move on to the next setup. Always remember that every profit you make is someone's loss so if nobody loses, that means nobody can win. Just stick to your strategy and the market will reward your diligence over time. That's how trading works
