post=134381861: This is unprecedented.
Globally, nations like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Where Islam is central and Ramadan deeply revered do not shut down schools for the entire fasting period. Instead, They adapt schedules, shortening hours or offering flexibility, to balance education with religious practice. A month-long closure, or five weeks in Bauchi’s case, is excessive and departs from sensible thinking 🤔 Wonders shall never end. Even you? Thought you fall in love with every decision of you DARLING DADDIES. SHIOR |

Politics › Re: FG Has Spent $8 Billion To Support The Naira – Rewane by Tooreda: 9:25pm On Feb 23, 2025 |
DeLaRue: Nothing new.
Every country steps in to support their currency.
In late January 2025 (last month), Brazil was spending about $7 billion dollars PER DAY! to support its currency against the dollar.
Around the same period, India spent over $20 billion dollars within 3 days to support the Indian Rupee.
Japan spent over $60 billion to defend the Yen against the dollar last year, yet the Yen has lost so much value against the dollar in the past 2 years.
If Nigeria spends $8 billion in 2 years, that's still reasonable, compared to when we were spending about that amount every year under Mr Buhari.
Truth is, the dollar is just too powerful against most currencies. Many governments have to defend their currencies, otherwise... Is this not an attempt to shift the goalpost? |

magicminister: I took my time to carefully scrutinize the video and because I recognize that I may be wrong with my earlier post. However, on close examination, I am doubling down on my stance for the following reasons::
Image highlight #1 - In the image below, the lecturer slightly shoved and objectively speaking, that is classified as assault under the Nigerian law
Section 252 of the Nigerian Criminal Code Act defines assault as striking, touching, or applying force to another person without their consent.
Reiterating my earlier point, if she was truly obstructing the way, the lecturer could have verbally asked her to make way or utilize the ample space behind her.
Image Highlight #2 - According to corroborative testimonies from the lecturer and the student, the lecturer returned after she verbally criticized his behavior. Basically, he returned to verify if she was a student and subsequently attempted to seize her phone.
My perspective First, the lecturer's return to the site of incident was a clear escalation of a situation that would have diffused. Beyond that, he tried to perform the job of a security personnel by making inquiries of the student instead of deferring to trained security persons if he had doubt on the student's right to be within the school premises.
His subsequent attempt to seize the phone is completely illegal and also classified as robbery in the Nigerian constitution. Section 401–403 define and prescribe punishments for robbery. Robbery is generally defined as stealing with the use of force or violence.
I can go further but based on my careful scrutinization of the video, the student is well within her right to defend herself and the lecturer must be re-trained to understand his job functions as well as compensate the student for the damaged phone.
If the school decides to punish the student, I will advise her to get a good attorney, make an official report against the lecturer to start a criminal case then file charges in a competent court of law. Based on what I see, I can almost guarantee an unbiased judge will quickly adjudicate in her favour! How far now? She has been expelled. You can hire her good attorney. |

magicminister: There was no reason for the lecturer to tap her. He could've easily asked for her to make room but based on the video, it appeared there was ample room in the back for the lecturer to pass through.
Her verbal insult of the lecturer is not a crime.
However, the lecturer's attempt to grab her phone and force her to delete the video could equate to theft.
I don't know enough about this story but based on what I just saw, the lecturer initiated the conflict and escalated the conflict by further engaging the student See spinning. You guys are terrible at analysing issues. You even said the lecturer initiated the conflict. Na wa o. |
