That's not the point here. I was once in Akenfa 3 for a while and understood the state and why the state governors don't seem to do anything with their allocations.

I think Senator Seriake Dickson was the most reasonable governor the state has produced since 1999. In short, he didn't give a damn whenever he wanted to attack his people. He would go on Radio Bayelsa to complain about how Bayelsa people were extremely lazy and that the Deltans, Yorubas and Igbos were involved in all the hustle in the state while Bayelsans just felt entitled and wanted government allocations shared the moment it dropped.

Senator Seriake refused to share like his predecessors and they kept threatening to kick him out, but dude was firm like the Rock of Gibraltar. Now, it appears his successor has fallen into the machinations of the boys (mostly ex-militants and political jobbers) that enjoy seeing their governor share state revenue while they sing his praises and assure him that his second tenure is guaranteed. This is the reason the only news that comes from Bayelsa on Nairaland is their huge federal allocation, but it's unfortunate their governors aren't showing working.

Bayelsa governors need to justify all the money they receive in federal allocation and 13% derivative allocation. This is a state that has just 8 LGAs. What are the governors doing with all that money?

Forget capping, Yenagoa is backward and dilapidated for a state capital. What sort of state capital do people still, cook, bathe, from same river where they poo? Electricity is considered a luxury. The only economic hubs are GSM village Tombia, Ekeki park, and the biggest of all Swali market, not forgetting the new central park at Igbogene. Given the size of Yenagoa that place is suppose to look like a mini London. I was at Ogbia for a programme and I couldn't stay for a week, No electricity, water, a journey that shouldn't take up to an hour from Yenagoa to Ogbia will take almost 2 hours with joint pains everywhere no thanks to bad roads. The biggest construction the state government did in that state is the Berger fly over, and maybe the new central park. It is a shame I must say. Although I must say that one thing I love about Yenagoa, there is almost nothing like traffic if you avoid the Swali area, which I couldn't avoid due to the abundance of lobsters, prawn, and good river fish.

Yenagoa is more beautiful than Enugu which is a glorified village without water. Even after 80 years as capital Enugu is a dry place with very little economic activities except civil servants collecting bribes and salaries.

No body is jealous of your state, if it is better it's for your on good, if it's bad it's still your state. But my concern is that I hate it when people are been paid to promote lies. That state and almost the entire states of the Niger Delta, were I come from needs serious attention, no governor is performing to expectations as far as I am concerned.

I stand to be corrected please next time don't post this rubbish here, The 8 local government of less inhabitable places of swamps and Creek side should have made Yenagoa the small London of Nigeria but you see those your governor's and the one that is there now, need to answer questions to you guys the Citizens of your state.

You this general without armored tanks, hide your head in shame. Since your state was splited from Rivers State, if this is what you call development then it's a pity , everyone that has been a governor, dead or Alive in that your state needs to come out and apologize to you guys. They should come and account for the Trillions they stole from the state , this your post is without justifications for this you call development since 1996 till date. This city cannot compete with some towns in Nigeria.
