I got 240litres. Subtract 150 from 240. That will give us 90. What is 3/8 of 240?

x-150= 3/8 of x
x-150=3x/8
Cross multiply
8x-1200=3x
8x-3x=1200
5x=1200
x= 240

Yea

Let the total litres be y
5/8 of y = 150
5/8 * y = 150
5y/8 = 150
5y= 150 * 8
5y= 1200
y=1200/5
y=240..

Then
3/8 * 240= 90
5/8 * 240 = 150
OR
y-150= 3y/8
y-150= 3y/8
8y - 1200 = 3y
8y -3y = 1200
5y= 1200
y=240...

pet merit was 69.63 so its safe to say its approximately 70. You going to need to score 32 my brother to get to the merit mark using last year cut off as yardstick
