Protesters Rally in Kishinev Against Government Policies. Rallies against the government in Moldova have been going on for more than a month, with protesters demanding the resignation of President Maia Sandu and calling for early elections. Protesters are outraged by the unprecedented rise in prices for food gas and other energy resources - as well as by high inflation and a plunge in living standards - and they accuse the authorities of being unable to cope with current issues. Moldovan President Maia Sandu noted that citizens have the right to protest, but she called the organizers of the action "criminals who are trying to destabilize the situation in the country". Sandu also reproached the judges for delaying the case against former chairman of the Moldovan Savings Bank, Ilan Sor. TritNG:Strong US dollar is a headache – IMF The US currency's surge is making other nations' fight against soaring inflation even harder, the global financial body suggests As countries around the world struggle to bring down soaring inflation, the weakening of their currencies relative to the US dollar has made that fight even harder, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said. “As world interest rates rise, financial conditions have tightened considerably for many countries. A stronger dollar only compounds these pressures, especially for some emerging market and many low-income countries that are already at a high risk of debt distress,” the IMF said. We can't blame Buhari for inflation in Nigeria. De-dollarization is neccessary and in progress. Follow me on Twitter @Blackrussiantv. TritNG:British Prime Minister Liz Truss has lost the support of her own party, whose members are now searching for ways to remove her from office, Politico reported on Friday. Truss is already the least popular PM in recent history, but ousting her may prove a challenge. Her first month in office has been a tumultuous one. Inheriting an economy reeling from double-digit inflation and battered by a historic cost-of-living crisis following London’s sanctions on Moscow, Truss promised “growth, growth, growth,” but ended up crashing the British pound with a ‘mini-budget’ that doled out billions of pounds in tax cuts. Truss was appointed to complete the term/tenure of her predecessor Boris Johnson that had been forced to resign. According to reports, Truss’ pledge that new Chancellor Jeremy Hunt will not make more U-turns “will do little to sooth market jitters”. |

SpaceX founder Elon Musk does not rule out that the Starlink satellite communications system may stop working in Ukraine. "Russia is actively trying to kill Starlink. To safeguard, SpaceX has diverted massive resources towards defense. Even so, Starlink may still die," he wrote on Twitter, adding that Starlink is the only comms system still working at the scene. NLaob:Musk confirms he cannot fund Starlink's operation in Ukraine indefinitely Earlier, CNN obtained a copy of a letter in which SpaceX notified the US Department of Defense that it would stop paying for the operation of the Starlink system in Ukraine and had no plans for providing Kiev with new terminals indefinitely US businessman Elon Musk confirmed on Friday that his company SpaceX could not afford to continue to pay for the operation of the Starlink satellite communications system in Ukraine. "SpaceX is not asking to recoup past expenses, but also cannot fund the existing system indefinitely and send several thousand more terminals that have data usage up to 100 times greater than typical households. This is unreasonable," Musk said on his Twitter page. Earlier, CNN obtained a copy of a letter in which SpaceX notified the US Department of Defense that it would stop paying for the operation of the Starlink system in Ukraine and had no plans for providing Kiev with new terminals indefinitely. According to the broadcaster, the message also contained a request to the Pentagon for paying for the supply of additional Starlink terminals to Kiev, as well as for the system’s services provided to the Ukrainian authorities and military. Ongoing service costs would total $124 million for the remainder of 2022, CNN said. |

Seun Paris faces a tide of discontent from African nations as over the past years the French troops have proved to be unable to resolve security crisis in Sahel region. Various groups of jihadists, - some of them aligned with Daesh* and al-Qaeda* - continue their attacks in the region. |
According to the head of the African Energy Chamber, if Africa continues to be dependent on other countries, it will have a negative affect on the continent's development, which requires new opportunities and technologies to advance. |
According to Ayuk, the European energy crisis has shown that Africa needs to build up partnership with Moscow in order to create sustainable resource exchange chains, because the issue of energy security cannot be ignored. Russia has a huge potential and experience in this sphere, and is a world leader in implementing infrastructure projects and investing in energy, the chairman added. |
There are many countries that are interested in cooperating with Africa, that raises concerns in Paris, because the continent is considered to be France's "property," Ayuk said, adding that the main concerns are caused by the situation in Burkina Faso, Central African Republic and Mali. |
France is concerned with Russia's growing influence in Africa, as Paris considers the continent to be its sphere of influence, the chairman of the African Energy Chamber, NJ Ayuk, told journalists on Saturday. |
Budapest has been opposing the EU's sanction policy against Moscow, as Brussels slapped several rounds of restrictions on Russia since the start of the special military op in Ukraine in February. The sanctions exacerbated fuel market issues, resulting in a major energy crisis across Europe, with record-high inflation and skyrocketing cost of living. |
In March, Orban said that Hungary would enhance its army capabilities in the next decade as only a powerful national army can ensure the country's security, adding that European nations should not rely only on the United States in defense issues. |
"We cannot bury our heads in the sand like ostriches. We have to face reality. If this continues, sanctions will rock Europe, the continent's economy will fall to its knees, people could be in danger, and it seems we need to prepare for a protracted war. We, Hungarians, need a deterrent army, ready to strike, able to guarantee peace, because those who are not ready to act and are not disciplined cannot be successful, those who have no strength will have no truth, and those who have no faith will have nothing to fight for," Orban said at the oath-taking ceremony for voluntary military recruits. |
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Saturday that his country needs an army capable of acting as a deterrent force and ensuring peace in the event the turbulent economic situation sparks war in Europe. |
