Kogi guber: Gov. Bello allegedly earmarked N198m to sponsor Friends and Associates as Aspirants

As the race for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket begin, the incumbent governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello was alleged to have earmaked a sum of N198mm to sponsor aspirants into the race ahead of the November 16 poll.

Desirous of plotting a hitch -free indirect primary with pseudo – contestants, the governor was said to have perfected plans to pay nomination forms of about 15 other aspirants.

It was gathered that Bello plot to purchase governorship nomination forms for the hired aspirants/members with the aim of promoting his preference for indirect mode of primaries as against the preference of direct primary by 20 aspirants.

Sponsored aspirants who have already picked nomination forms are ; Amade Edime from Dekina, Governor Bello’s G9 support group coordinator for Kogi East and Kingsley’s Oga

Yet to pick nomination forms include Murtala Muhammad Jimoh, Yakubu Audu, Katun Muhammad, Umar Ibrahim, Musa Hussaini, Suleiman Bashir Lawal, Comrade John Arome, Zaccheaus Dare Micheal, Ade Bright and several other persons.

Bello it was further learnt planned to mobilize the aspirants to join him in adopting indirect primary as he at the moment remain the only out the 23 in the party insisting on indirect primary.

Recall that 20 aggrieved aspirants stormed the party headquarters, in Abuja on Monday to demand for direct primaries urging the party to rescind its decision to adopt indirect primary in picking its candidate.

The expected outcome, it was further gathered is to influence the awaiting decision of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Working Committee(NWC) of the party on mode of primary to be adopted in the state.

The aspirants are learnt to have already making declaration on media and showcasing expression of interest to join the guber race all in the name of sabotaging the interest of all APC members who wants a direct mode of primaries

With delegate (indirect) primary, it's a sure victory for Yahaya Bello. All the party structure across the wards, local government and at state level are occupied by his thugs, so I don't see any magic that will enthrone another candidate for APC. And for the main elections, that's a work over against any party/candidate. Sadly, Kogite will have to endure the misgovernance for the next four years

There are two party exco and structure. The Audu/Faleke structure will be used and not the Yahaya Bello structure. The Audu Faleke Exco will no vote for Bello
