Isiala Mbano, Imo State 🇳🇬 Set to Host Major Integrated Farm & Processing Hub.

The Isiala Mbano Integrated Farm and Agro Settlement is steadily taking shape as one of the most significant agro-industrial projects in the local government.
Developed through a public-private partnership between the Isiala Mbano Local Government and Babamekus Industries, the project combines commercial farming with modern processing facilities to create a complete agricultural value chain.

The facility will house a fine-grain polished parboiled rice mill alongside an edible soybean oil processing plant, enabling locally grown crops to be processed into finished products instead of being transported elsewhere. This will not only increase the value of agricultural produce but also reduce waste, create jobs, strengthen food security, and stimulate economic activities across Isiala Mbano and beyond.
Upon completion, the Integrated Farm and Processing Hub is expected to position Isiala Mbano as one of Imo State's emerging centres for agro-processing and agricultural investment.

Steady progress is being made on the ongoing pile foundation works for the 330kV double-circuit transmission line project spanning from Alaoji in Abia State to Owerri in Imo State. This critical infrastructure is part of Nigeria’s national grid expansion aimed at improving the transmission capacity, stability, and reliability of electricity supply across the Southeast region.
The project involves the installation of high-capacity transmission towers designed to carry bulk electrical power over long distances at 330kV voltage level. Once completed, the line will significantly enhance the evacuation and distribution of electricity, reduce transmission constraints, and support a more stable grid network.
