nynbrada: Finally the deal is done and dusted. A no brainer for Cech if you must ask, and i think most importantly it's a win-win situation for both Chelsea and Ass_anal. Up blues! Have you heard that Cech denied such deal? |

jcgodfrey: I'll gladly oblige. Now that I think of it, aggression is probably the wrong word for this subject. I checked out the meaning, and technically, Zidane n Barton have committed some truly aggressive acts. But, for lack of a better word, I don't see how aggression would be an interesting topic, atleast from a technical point of view. And some of the players mentioned are not aggressive, but simply "hard-tacklers, mean-markers." Thanks for bringing this to my notice. I don't think I'm interested in aggressive players as much as the mean/hard ones. I enjoy the hard tackles, but the aggression turns me off. I actually thought of aggression in the same vein as hard. But it denoted evil intent! Oh well, I give up. If I was standing @ your back(check),I tapped your shoulder(check),you turned around(check),I punched you in the face(check),you passed out(check),what other evil intent do I need to exhibit,or you marked me$I punched you in the belly or looking @ your leg on the ground$I stamped on it isn't aggression?bro technically those examples are "Devilish" intent. |

jcgodfrey: Let me wade in on this. There's a misconception as to what being aggressive means in football. One-time or one-off incidents hardly counts. Anyone can get mad, but am sure the op means regular aggressors. Paolo Maldini isnt/wasnt aggressive! He read the game too well, fast-thinker. Many of the guys are energetic but not aggressive. Arturo Vidal is not aggressive! Yes, y'all saw him snapping @heels in the UCL Final, that's cuz its the final. U gotta mark Barca players, won't u? Vidal is among, if not the highest scoring defensive/central midfielder in recent times. So aggression is not really his game, but he's energetic, box-to-box type of guy. Balotelli is lazy! Not aggressive at all. He's rude and unruly. So, there's little aggression in him.
My aggressive list would be: De Jong, Shawcross, Pepe, Alan Smith(in man united), Mikel Essien, Costa? Yes, but in a good way, Mascherano, Chielini, and some guys.
Barton, Suarez, Ramos, Cantona, Zidane, these guys are not aggressive, just somewhat unruly. Ramos gets booked needlessly, but he's not aggressive. To be continued... Barton who was jailed for "beating up" Omar Dabo is former team mate?a Barton who was suspended for 12games or so?a Barton that lower his short$told his own fans(Man City) to kiss is ass?,a Zidane that was suspended for 8games or so while playing for Juve in the Ucl?a Zidane that was suspended for Stomping on a Saudi Arabia player in 1998(France '98)?tell me something I don't know about Aggression. |
