It's obvious some moderators on Nairaland are typical ethnic bigots. I can't count number of times have been banned for comments that doesn't warrant it. How I wish I can reach out to Seun Osewa over this. Imagine this op still have the Enfontry to reply here abusive and nothing happens to him. |
Single shame you don't have talk less of integrity. Being paid or being poor is your own palava. The point you raised is what I responded to you and if I lied you should be able to prove it I lied and being biased. Mind you not everyone is poor. If you can get me the connection on how to be getting paid for politicians online I think I don't have the capabilities to do so, because of the ways I was brought up. We don't support rubbish neither hate human being as you all do here on NL. TechSkill: |
All this people's you mentioned which of them insulting the president of a country unlike Bitter Obi. ? Which among them using unguarded comments on the whole nation like Bitter Obi. Common sense is not common again bro wake up. |

*NEITHER GOOD NOR GREAT: A PEOPLE CALLED YORUBA* by Moses Oludele Idowu When I tell you that Yoruba are neither good nor great I know what I am talking about. And I mean it. When I wrote *The Myth of Yoruba Exceptionalism* I know specifically what I was saying and meant and have not changed my opinion yet. Sure they are better in some ways and in certain values at least more than their other hapless neighbours - the same way a one- eyed man is at least better in a city of the blind. But Yoruba are not great people. And they are not good either. I should know. Sure there might have been a generation or even successive generations of great men and women but not this one. For quite sometimes now I have been trying to call attention to the plight of the indigenous Yoruba in Kwara ( and even Kogi State) through several essays detailing outright government neglect, insecurities owing to banditry, Fulani herdsmen terrorism and all such. I have written severally making suggestions about self-defense and People's Militia and what government can do to save this people from imminent danger. I have even written publicly to the Army asking openly questions it should answer to force the issue. To this day no Yoruba group or association or society or club has responded about any assistance to come to the aid of these people. None, either from the Diaspora or even from their kinsmen in the Southwest. They are not interested because it doesn't directly affects them. Some traditional rulers have been killed. Some have relocated to the capital in Ilorin because the government refused to do something and they had to vacate their domain for their own safety. The fringes of Igbomina land are now totally unsafe. Graphic videos of children and adults evacuating with their belongings now flood the Social Media, leaving their own towns and villages. All these in a nation where there is supposed to be a Government both at the State and Federal level; and an Army. Yesterday I shared these videos of situations in Sagbe, Oke- Ode and other villages around them of people evacuating. Other villages are even worse. These are the Igbomina people, my own people in Kwara State. I am an Igbomina man, first and foremost, before I am a Yoruba man. I will not deny my ancestry. I have posted these videos and call for help on this Yoruba Platform of scholars and chieftains and so far what is the response? Except one nauseous, irrational, illiterate and irritating response that Yoruba in Kwara chose to be with Fulani because of religion. I am a Kwaran and I am as far apart from the Fulanis both religion- wise and ideological- wise; and I know several thousands who are in the same position. Even if that is true do they deserve such fate? Even if many of them chose to align with the religion and culture of Fulani is that a reason to abandon your own blood and skin? Are there no Muslims in Oyo, Ibadan, Ekiti or Lagos? You can see how people reason! A section of the Yoruba is under serious distress and have you heard anything from any notable Yoruba? Haven't they been told? Have they not seen the videos? Have you heard any statement from the Ooni of Ife, the Pontifex Maximus of Yoruba Traditional system? Have you heard anything from Alaafin, the one who takes prostration of other kings? What concerns you is the supremacy between two stools? What concerns you is the lording the hegemony of Ife or Oyo over the rest of Yorubaland. The plight of my own people does not bother you. They are not interested. What is my business about which town comes first? What is my business in who is superior to the other? Supremacy my foot! God is not interested in what horse wins which race. My own concerns do not bother you; the plight of my own people does not affect you; neither will your own affect me. We are not one people. It is now clear. Let everyone go on his own lane. It is well. A Yoruba man is supposed to be leading the country presently. And a part of Yorubaland is been deserted and unsafe. How many appointments has Bola Ahmed Tinubu made from Igbomina land? Just name one person that he has appointed from that axis of Yorubaland even to a board of parastatal. Mention one project in the last 2 years by this government sited in that entire area. None. At least you know what he did and is doing in Lagos and Ogun. Even the Third Mainland Bridge that is already in place they will still use trillions for "routine maintenance" while the federal road network in the entire Southwest is in shambles. You at least know how many Lagosians, Egbas and Ijebus are occupying one office or the other in this government. But when 2027 comes the same Yoruba would come around and appeal and use the same ethnic card - 'Let's support our own", Teni ni teni, and other worn out cliches. When they want votes and want to bargain they will remember that Yorubaland extends to Jebba and Lokoja; they will remember they have kins in Kwara and Kogi State but when it is time to distribute the goodies then they share among themselves in the Lagos- Ogun axis, the people I once called in another landmark essay the Egba - Ijebu Mafia. Yoruba and doublespeak; children of deception and masters of deceit and dissimulation. How is Tinubu different from Buhari? How is he my own or my brother? What has he done for my own people and land? Name one project, just one or one appointment from my own side and among my own people. So he should go and mobilize the same Lagos and Ogun where he has worked and where he has dispensed favour to vote and campaign for him when the time comes. Please don't bring that ethnic card then. We are not one. Enough of using Yoruba to deceive. Let everyone bear his father's name. On a final note let me say this as a warning. If you close your eyes now to the plight of the Igbomina people help will arise and come form elsewhere and from another source. I hope you also know that God never sleeps nor slumber and the spirits of the ancestors do not sleep either. Two, I wantto warn the rest of you in the Southwest who think you are safe now that you are not. If these bandits were able to successfully evacuate even some of the Igbomina and part of Ekiti and plant themselves and build a stronghold here as it has happened in Plateau and Benue or Nassarawa states then your own peace is withdrawn; your trouble begins. Once the Igbomina buffer is removed then Ekiti, Oyo will be unsafe too. If you can't see this then I pity you. If you think that these ethnic jihadists will stop here only then you made a mistake, a very terrible one. Europeans delayed in confronting the Nazis during the World War II because it was the Jews that the Nazis were first dealing with not them. But soon after they turned to France, then Poland, then ... It began with Jews but it did not end with them. At the end it affected everyone including even Americans and Africans. That is the lesson of history. Now it is the trouble of Igbomina people and Okun land but soon it will become your own too and that of the entire Yoruba. Yes, now it is too little but soon it will be too late. Read again my essay TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE. |
APC boasting is not good enough concentrate on the good work and good government. Haters cannot understand why but it will be too late before they get it |

Moniepoint was founded by Tosin Eniolorunda - Yorùbá With all these conglomerates, ask yourself that, who actually build Lagos? Sho Rotimillion Henry: Shonde Oluwagbenga Majorities of the market space. Ladipo market Igbos, Alaba market igbos, Daleko market igbos, West minister igbos, oyigbo yorubas. Mile 12 hausas. Oke odo yorubas, ojuwoye yorubas, trade fair igbos, balogun mandilas igbos, Ajah market igbos and yorubas. Epe market yorubas. The most lucrative markets in lagos are dominated by the igbos. Stop playing tribal bigotry. Shonde Oluwagbenga : Sho Rotimillion Henry When are you guys going to get tired of using the word BIGOT and TRIBALISM? When? Why is it that whenever someone post the real fact that talks about Lagos economy and it doesn't align with your southeast sentiments, automatically that person is a Tribal bigot? This lists is from NBA Nigeria Bureau of Statistics, on how Lagos economy is been sustained. Why don't you ask yourself why markets was exempted from the lists if truly markets sustain economy? This are the conglomerates where Lagos State get their huge revenue from, not from the markets you listed out here. Do you even know that, the taxes those markets you said you dominated pay in a year is not up to what each company pay in a month, not to talk of tax dangote refinery alone would be paying in a month? Mr Trader, Markets is not really the economy booster. If you want to know this better, Let's take ABA market as an example, ABA markets is one of the biggest Markets in entire west africa countries, but what is the IGR of ABIA state or what exactly is ABIA state contributing to federals governments coffers? Do you even know that what Oyo state alone contribute to Government coffers surpass what entire Ibo region Contributed with your ABA market . You need to understand this thing better, exporting our Jobs to china and importing unemployement back Nigeria all in the name of Business, Market or Trading, doesn't build economy, that is why Ibo region are not doing fine when it comes to revenue generation. Conglomerate is the strength of state economy not markets. Hope you have learn something Mr Tribal Bigot, who want to use ordinary Markets to defend Ibo statement of Ibo build Lagos. Am a proud Yoruba man. My love for me tribe and culture of Yoruba is uncountable. |
*In Yorubaland, money has never been foremost in Yoruba value system* *In our value system money is number six* *What are the first five you may ask?* 1. The first is *Laakaye*- The application of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding........*(Ogbon ati imo oye)* 2. The second is *Iwa Omoluabi*- (integrity) Someone with integrity is a man/woman of their words. If you have all the wealth in the world but lack integrity, you are not worth a thing. Integrity is combined with *Iwa* (character) which we regard as *Omoluabi* 3. The third is *Akinkanju tabi Akin*-(Valour) That is why *Balogun is second -in-command to the leaders in Yoruba land. Balogun are people that can lead them to war. To lead with great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle. Yoruba people have no respect for cowards. 4. The fourth is *Aniselapa ti kiise ole* (Having a visible means of livelihood) A person must be identified with a visible means of livelihood that guarantees a lawful income or sustenance. His or her profession or job must be open and legally approved by society, and not through cheating or forcefulness. 5. The fifth is *IYI*-(Honour) Yoruba people place a premium on the gait with which individuals carry themselves and public reputation. That is why Yoruba people usually say when you set out to look for money and you meet honour on the way then you don't need the journey anymore, because if you get the money, you will still use it to buy honour. 6. The last in the Yoruba value system is *OWO TABI ORO*-(Money wealth). If you putting money ahead of the other five, then you are nobody in Yoruba land of the olden days. Unfortunately, this is being pushed to the front burner nowadays due to the erosion of our value system. *Please share with fellow Yoruba Sons and Daughters.* |
