CHRISTMAS MUSINGS

This should not be taken as a joke or blasphemy against the person of Mary, Jesus Christ or the religion Christianity; rather it was my thought today as I watched with interest as the drama unit of my church depict what happened before and during the birth of Jesus Christ. In particular the incident that occurred when Mary the Mother of Jesus was going through labour pains.

It was dramatic. The drama unit in their ingenuity showed Mary going through labour pains like every woman. The lady in question was shouting, wailing ... Calling on Joseph to support her ... She went ahead to call on the Holy Spirit to also come to her aid as the one responsible for her pregnancy and the Child. (As you know wives call on their husbands when they wants to give birth).

NOW this singular scene raised thoughts in my head which is what I want to put out.

1) Is neonate Jesus really 'troublesome' to the point of disturbing Mary to that extent (there could be exaggeration here by the dramatic drama unit).

2) Why should Mary go through labour pains to bring forth baby Jesus, at least she could have given birth without it.

3) Mary eventually gave birth to baby Jesus - unaided by any birth assistance - in a Manger but why should she be made to pass through all that stress, going from inn to inn looking for a space when she could have been foretold beforehand so she can prepare a suitable place for herself and the newborn. At least her pregnancy was foretold.

These are my musings.

So many people place a little too much value on the "aesthetics" of a car, especially the paint. But in my opinion, the paint is one of the last things you should look at when buying a used car in Nigeria.

I can relate with this, example is someone calling for Toyota Camry 2004

Caller: I saw you car online, is it still available?

Response: Yes, it is.

Caller: is it first body?

Response: NO (but silently saying *WTF, first body for a 12yr old car.

Caller: oh! (ends call)

Very annoying, the car has been condemned already cos its been repainted.

And catalysts are not cheap. The funny part of it is that most (in my experience) cars without a catalyst do not have it because it was deliberately removed (= stolen).

A lot of mechanics do it to unsuspecting car owners. They sell it off, make good money, and your car suddenly becomes more fuel thirsty than it used to be.

What do these guys use the removed catalyst for?
cos the trouble they go through to remove it is not small.
