they don't need to specify by telling you the arm of government, you and I know that it is the executive arm of government that calls the shot in a democratic government..how a country is to be run comes at the desk of the president who then deliberate with the FEC council on the issue at hand..the day to day activities of govt which involves decision making on national issues are handled by the president..if it is the one that needs the permission of the national assembly,he sends a bill to them..until you understand that law-making is different from decision making you will keep arguing
guy stop the argument cos you are wrong.NATIONAL ASSEMBLY IS THE ANSWER

Same questions and confusions bro cos that day after state screening, they asked us to go for medicals costing around N2,500,but most of us decided to wait till we see our names. My question is this, since I'm in lagos, can I do this test and get the medical record from the police hospital in lagos and bring it down to umuahia?
i was asked to do medicals too that day but i chose to do it now. you can do yours from anywhere.....what i dont know is, if it will be a requirement in this stage.i am even seeing this as a continuation of the state screening and not yet zonal screening.

Recruitment : PSC warns applicants against activities of fraudsters
ON August 2, 2016 6:30 PM / IN News / Comments

Abuja - The Chairman, Police Service Commission ( PSC), Mr Mike Okiro, has warned unsuspecting applicants to beware of activities of fraudsters.
This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations of the commission on Tuesday in Abuja.
Okiro said that he had no face book account and had never operated any before.
He advised applicants to restrain themselves from being desperate for recruitment into the Force.

The chairman said that the fraudsters had started demanding money from applicants of the ongoing recruitment.

"The Commission recently concluded the State screening and would in no distant time begin the second phase of the process leading to the recruitment, "he said.
He reiterated his earlier statement that the recruitment would be transparent and based on merit.

Okiro said that the commission would resist any pressure to undermine or compromise the integrity of the process and the outcome of the exercise.
He said anybody paying for any assistance to be recruited into the force would be disappointed.

He stressed that security operatives were on the alert to arrest those giving and those that were receiving.

The chairman advised the public to report to the commission any underhand practices in respect of the recruitment.
“If they ask you to bring money, whether the fraudsters, our Staff or Policemen, report to us and we will arrest and prosecute the person or persons,"he said.
He said that successful applicants from the state screening would soon be invited for the next level of the process.

Abuja – The Chairman, Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Sen. Abu Ibrahim, has denied insinuations that ongoing recruitment by the Nigeria Police Force was lopsided.Ibrahim told The Nigerian Observer in Abuja on Friday that he was in touch with the police authorities on the criteria for screening and other processes involved in the exercise. He said that he was monitoring the exercise, adding that screening of applicants was based on conditions that were fair to all Nigerians.Ibrahim said the recruitment targeted at getting 10,000 persons into the police force would in no way marginalise any state of the federation. He explained that it in order to comply with United Nation’s standard that the Police Service Commission and relevant stakeholders decided to carryout the exercise based on local governments.Ibrahim said, “the rank and file will be nine per local government; then the officers will be 12 Inspectors and 12 Assistant Superintendents of Police.“The criteria for professionals are not out yet.“For me, selecting nine persons from each of the 774 local governments is a good gesture. I met with the chairman of Police Service Commission, Mr Mike Okiro.“He said that they had finished the screening based on physical fitness, age and education; now, they are going to compile the final list based on zones’’.He added that the final level of the recruitment would commence next week, saying “it is a very tedious job but I don’t think there is any controversy.“I heard someone on radio saying the recruitment should be based on states, not local governments.“The reason why local government is being used is because there is a United Nations standard and using that method is the only way to meet that standard,’’ he said. The lawmaker assured that the committee would not relent in its oversight functions to ensure good working condition for the police. He added that the committee would soon commence a tour of police facilities across the country to ascertain their conditions.www.nigerianobservernews.com/2016/07/police-recruitment-not-lopsided-sen-ibrahim/

PoliticsAbia Gov Tussle:certificate Issued To Uche Ogah Is Invalid..inec Sources Tell CK by UEK33(op):
How valid is the certificate issued to Abia State guber candidate,Uche Ogah. That is the question being asked in political quarters.

A reliable source in INEC headquarters in Abuja who spoke to CKN news on condition of anonymity stated that the document issued to Uche Ogah as a certificate of return for the governorship election in Abia State is an invalid document.

According to the source, the election that produced a governor in Abia state in 2015 was the supplementary election of April 25, 2015 and not the April 11th election which INEC declared inconclusive.

The source pointed that Ogah's certificate of return bears the date of April 11th, which failed to produce a governor.

"CKN,recall that INEC declared the April 11 governorship election in Abia state inconclusive despite the fact that Ikpeazu of PDP was leading Otti of APGA with a wide margin.

"INEC called for a supplementary election in about 8 canceled LGAs in the state on April 25, which Ikpeazu also won and was declared winner. And INEC issued him with a certificate of return as winner of the election after the supplementary election.

"So what Ogah has is an invalid document that can't make him governor. He can't lay claims to the governorship of Abia State on the basis of an inconclusive election."

The case has moved to the Court of Appeal after Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court ,Abuja washed off his hand the case after asking INEC to issue a Certificate of return to Ogah.A decision being challenged by incumbent Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.

All efforts made by CKN News to get the reaction of Mr Ogah to this latest revelation was abortive .

alujonjonkijon:
the state high court cannot stay an order of a federal high court ,only the court of appeal can do that.inec should go ahead and issue the certificate and swear ogar in.

The abia state high court judge will receive a query from njc.what he did amounts to causing exercising appellate powers over the decision of a court of equal power and at the same time denied Ogar the fruits of his victory at the federal high court contrary to what the supreme court of Nigeria (craig jsc)said in NWABUEZE V. NWOSU "...a court will not, as a matter of course, deprive a successful litigant of the fruits of his success unless there are "very special circumstances" for doing so."

& in NIMB LTD v UBN LTD,the supreme court of nigeria(acholonu jsc) said ''The theory of justice to which we adhere rests a priori on the premise that there must be certainty and parties to the legal duel should be in a position to know where they stand at a certain time. A system of law where Judges of the same degree i.e. of co-ordinate jurisdiction make contradictory and inconsistent orders in respect of the same subject matter involving the same parties i.e. each relying on his whims, caprices, prejudices and sometimes a vaunting ego, makes nonsense and mockery of the law. The beauty or what I might describe as the romance of law is that just as stare decisis exercises a restraining influence on our courts, so too do discipline in the courts in dutifully adhering to normative order by which courts of co-ordinate jurisdiction do not sit on appeals on each other, attracts respect for the law.''
you think you know law ? Did you know section 141 of the Nigeria elctoral act as amended states that no one should be declared winner if the person did not participate in all the electoral stages" that amendment was necesary to avoid repitation of Amechi vs Omehia saga.....i put it to you that the high court judge erred in law by declaring USO winner.
