Keeno - With his latest track. Nigerian Girl. What a club banger. |
Its paNTS. Just my opinion. |
Sorry guys I'm just digging sh*t out from the web today. This guy Coffee Anderson did an acoustic version of Rhianna's "Umbrella". I think its a fantastic effort. Worth a watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQE8FGL1cqQ |
After his rendition of 9ice's Gongo Aso, Nicolas Georgakis is back performing 9ice's Street Credibility. Very good effort. Obviously a huge 9ice fan. Click link below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWEmwuvGqkA |
Sweet. Never get bored of this. |
I'm not a Naija hip hop head at all but damn!!! This guy is good. |
My take on this discussion is that it is a phase the nigerian music industry has to go through , we are all playing a part in the evolution of our music industry, DJs and others dey collect money to play songs, we dey halla about am on Nairaland (and this is one of the most unified threads on Nairaland ie lotsa peeps agreeing on the same thing). In a short time, time go reach wen if you go party and DJ play bad music, you go carry your isiewu stone am. There are some really good "real" artists, with good puposeful lyrics and delivery styles. Timaya is one of them, Keeno is another www.myspace.com/keenoekobeats . These are artists singing about what affects you and me and everyone else. |
You could have asked the question without going into the story as that would probably put anyone off helping you. I would suggest using the almighty google to search for a converter. |
"Your Father" makes an extremely valid point there. We all hope that very soon, other medium for talented up and coming artists to get their songs heard such as through the internet will be available other than the standard radio. Some websites are providing this service today, namely nairaland and Mytruspot. We need many more like these |
Damn !! Everyone here is making so much sense, There is a major challenge facing the Nigerian music scene at the moment, That challenge is one of talented artists getting their songs showcased. "Your Father" is right, in Naija its all about how much you are willing to pay Radio DJs, Presenters for them to play your songs or TV stations for them to show your videos and do interviews. The more you pay, the more airplay you get. These people collecting money for radio airplay and TV play forget that the artists are the ones providing contents for their programmes and should in fact be paid for this via airplay royalty. Anyway, na Naija we dey talk about so no surprises that events there are just the opposite of the norm. Later when these artist dem blow up, these DJs and presenters will claim that they made the artist. It is the system and it is flawed. |
Thats the same reason I like "Everybody Know" , Of cos we can't take anything away from "My Mama" as its a classic but "Everybody Know" is a great party jam. I love the beginning "Question - when was the last time you prayed for this our great nation" I also love the part he said "Mr President try your best" the boy get good head for im shoulder o!!!The masses and less priviledged in our society will feel him. Not many young artists these days sing about what Keeno sings about. , Most have opted to sing about parties, drinking, cars and girls. I don't have a problem with these but it is just refreshing to hear someone singing about issues and talking to people as well as politicians in the same song, Everybody Know those things wen you dey do wen you think say people no dey see" I am feeling his music big time, inspirational sh*t. |
Nairalanders A new song from Keeno called "Everybody Know" is now available on his myspace site www.myspace.com/keenoekobeats , I couldn't decide which of his tracks b/w "My Mama" and "Naija Sorry" I liked best but this new track has definitely helped me make my mind up. Damn!!! The guy sabi yan!! What do y'all think of the track "Everybody Know" |
Akin Which Keeno tracks have you got on your website. Is his album on the streets yet? I luv My Mama and Naija Sorry a lot. |
Hmmm Lalaboi I dey fear you o!! Has Keke or Dayo stolen your money before? Surely calling them thief is a bit melodramatic. |
Who is African King and Saucy Kid? Sounds like the name to a porn movie. I thought this thread was about Kennis new signing. Anyway I believe Kennis will do everything in their power (and thats a lot) to make sure that Kelly Hansome gets good publicity whether his music is good or not |
3 milla aint bad! That definitely means that these Naija artists are doing well and living the life. |
What's this I see on HIP TV with Dbanj saying that he is not doing anymore shows for the rest of this year. Can anyone shed more light as to the reasons why he is not doing any more shows as he didn't say why or is it all part of the hype? He must have made a lotta dosh from shows, Does anyone have any idea how much he charges for shows? |
Just got back London from Lagos last week and there is a new Artist called Keeno who's song "My Mama" is doing massively well on Radio and TV over there. Very good video as well I should add. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upuP9Oe88A4 I was surprised not to see this video on Nairaland TV. There are other threads suggesting that Nigerian music videos are loosing there originality. This video is as Nigerian as they come and the song is great. Really makes you miss your mama. I just dey tell una wetin I believe say na "hot off the press news" so if anyone has posted this topic before, then my apologies, I just join Nairaland. One |
Ijero , You make a very good point. A lot of the Nigerian Artist do not potray our culture in their songs or videos. There are some new artists artist that showcase Nigeria well. There is a video on Nigezie and Soundcity by a guy called Keeno called My Mama , Very good video and very Nigerian. I found the link to the video on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upuP9Oe88A4 |
