FreeStuffsNG: Same Pa Obj who sold them and allegedly spent $13 billion on electricity yet no electricity.
PH refinery will eventually get right. What was missing before was the political will to make it work. The political will is now available to make it work. No more pumping of refined petroleum products through pipelines that will compromised or political patronage with refined petroleum products. NNPC must now compete with others. Dangote Refinery has proven that petroleum refinery business can work in Nigeria. Pa Obj didn't see and believe in such.
and this gorvenment has the political will to fix anything?

Akinpresident: Many people don't seem to understand the hazards of transfusion beyond religion.
There's a family friend whose daughter had similar issue. The husband said no blood. He left to get something, the wife asked the hospital to transfuse the blood. Till date, the girl is still suffering seizures and always sick every now and then.
Bible was very clear about blood. Same way it was clear in other issues people are freely engaging in. Nobody should be compelled to do anything against their faith. Atleast, they even brought the girl to hospital and seeking for blood alternatives.
their faith , not the little girls faith ,, the authority on health issues in nigeria has recomended blood transfusion to save her Life .. this is what matters in this issue.
MaxInDHouse: In this side of the world people acting on what they have little or no knowledge about is common. Blood Transfusion is no longer tenable as a safe means of treatment around the world.
Though God has warned His worshipers thousands of years ago to abstain from blood {Genesis 9:4} stating it'll guarantee good health {Act 15:28-29} but faithless people feels the book (Bible) shouldn't be the sole determinant of whatever they choose to do with their lives as it's an old book written by people they don't know.
Today health practitioners around the world are enlightening their people against the hazards of blood transfusion.
let the child take his ọwn decision on faith when the child is mature .. not you chosing to have the child killed because of your faith..

PressMyButton: Just 90 days without pay, these ones are lucky, a child that is not trained at home, it is from outside he/she will collect home training. You're not the ones that forced the Government to make an announcement of 70,000. Civil service are collecting 70k, while the Govt generously increased your own to 77k, but you think you can arm twist the Government when to start paying you based on your own terms by inciting other corp members in a WhatsApp group to revolt. These ill- trained GenZ allowing some devils from outside be pushing them foolishly. Now, you have to serve for extra 3months and you won't collect that 77k for the period. What would they even do with the 77k, aside buying wigs, buying data for TikTok, going to joints and all sorts, only a few of them have sense when it comes to money. You see that spoilt brat serving in Lagos, insulting Lagos and doing 30 days rant challenge, that one go collect her own too after service. It will be another fresh one year service for her. I don't have pity for ill mannered, disrespectful and foolish kids.
Tinubus leadership is terrible ,, is that an insult or a statement of her perception of his leadership..
DeOTR: Too many words and less substance. You can't answer the simple question I asked. Are you going to be responsible for monitoring Dangote to ensure he sells all the crude oil he bought in Naira only in Nigeria? We're not talking about the pressure on the Naira here, because I don't see how selling crude oil to Dangote in Naira equivalent necessitates the increments in price since it's still the same if bought in dollar. The government is actually selling lower price in Naira and you're thinking it's the naira equivalent of the dollar price, where as, Dangote still sells from this product to outsiders at international price at the expense of the country. A huge chunk of our daily production has been sold into the future already, playing friendly match with the balance is not working and will not work.
Here’s the simple math:
If I buy crude in naira, it reduces local demand for dollars, helping to stabilize the naira-dollar exchange rate. When I process the crude, I can sell some to the local market at prices based on my naira cost of production. When I sell to the international market, it brings in much-needed foreign currency, boosting the economy—whether I sell at a higher dollar price or not, it's still an injection of forex.
But if I have to buy crude in dollars, it increases demand for dollars, causing the naira to depreciate further. This raises my production costs, which I’ll have to pass on through higher prices—exactly what we’re seeing now. With increased dollar demand, inflation keeps rising.
We all wanted refineries to work to ease pressure on dollar demand. Now that we have a local refinery, NNPC insists on policies that frustrate the masses. And let’s be clear: Dangote is not the only local refiner—this affects the entire sector. So stop looking at it purely from his business perspective.
This policy is not just flawed; it is outright harmful. Regardless of NNPC’s justifications, crude for the local market must be available in naira.
DeOTR: I should be explaining to you why the NNPC should be selling crude oil in Naira to who? Are you the one that'll guarantee that the beneficiary of the naira crude oil will not sell the product to outsiders in dollar rate, their by taking us back to a form of subsidy. You guys will just open your mouth waa, to spew rubbish. The little responsibilities that they've given you, you can't do it properly, but it's a matter beyond your IQ that you want to dabble into. Like I said, criticism is the simplest thing to do, but doing what you criticize others of not doing will become an impossibility if given the opportunity. I believe Buhari and Tinubu now feels stupid for going against subsidy removal in 2012.
A, policy that requires local producers to buy locally refined crude in dollars, which puts additional pressure on the naira. Is what you are defending and you believe you have sense ? if the goal is to increase forex inflow, then encouraging the export of finished goods rather than making local producers struggle with dollar-denominated purchases should be the focus.
This kind of policy is counterintuitive, especially when the country is trying to strengthen its local industries and reduce dependence on imports. Ideally, the government should be facilitating production, not making it harder for local manufacturers to compete. If NNPC is creating unnecessary roadblocks instead of supporting economic growth, then accountability and a more logical approach to policy-making are absolutely necessary.NNPC is making life even harder for the masses, yet you’re here talking about the weight of responsibility. If they are incapable of making policies with sincerity and competence, they should step down. This is pure nonsense.
For the record, I perform excellently in the responsibilities entrusted to me. And when I decide to take on public duties, I will do so with sincerity and deliver on my commitments. So stop defending nonsense, this people are only concerned about personal gains.
DeOTR: It's very easy to criticize people from position of ignorance. I believe you won't do any than they're doing if given the opportunity. No be Nigerians we see everyday? Mtchwww
you did not even speak to my enquiry , you don't even have a defence to speak , than to just be supporting a evil government blindly , maybe you are one of the benefactors of this madness called an administration.
nairalanda1: Grow up. Not everything is pdp vs apc.
And you don't know anything about subsidies and why.they are damaging.
Grow up. You are here shouting agbado because you want cheap things
I am not speaking to subsidy,, neither do I have a political party , the only clarificate I want from you is how the removal of the crude for naira policy is an intelligent decision by the government .. and how this will make our life's better .. that's all
nairalanda1: Okay , it's like you want more subsidies.
Well the subsidies of the preceding decades caused a debt crisis and the destruction of the refining capacity of our country that necessitated their removal.
And it is thanks to the economic team.of the GEJ admin that I finally understood that.
You don't have to support a party to know how destructive consumption subsidies are.

You said: Rewrite. the issue here has nothing to do with subsidy , subsidy is gone and we all understand this , you spoke about why our productive activity must increase and we export more to improve our balance of payment and exchange rates.. Now we all prayed for our local refineries to come on line so that sector demands for dollar will reduce , and we can also export refined petroleum product.. the increases our productivity and earnings in that sector , improves our exchange rate , and also lower prices for us locally .. this seem like a working plan with the dangote refinery and other local refineries. Now comes NNPC , playing games with the local market , further frustrating their efforts. Lieing that out refineries are working , now crowing it with selling crude for dollar to the local market.. Now the solution we all prayed for has been cancelled by the NNPC , dollar rate will continue to shoot up due to the demand locally to purchase crude .. the marketers will pass the burden to us , inflation will continually increase.. we are back to square one .. Why are you defending this government . ChatGPT said: The issue here has nothing to do with subsidies—those are gone, and we all understand that. You discussed the importance of increasing our productive activities and boosting exports to improve our balance of payments and exchange rates.
We all hoped that local refineries would come online to reduce the sector's demand for dollars and allow us to export refined petroleum products. This would increase productivity and earnings in the sector, strengthen the exchange rate, and lower local fuel prices. With the Dangote refinery and other local refineries, this seemed like a viable plan.
However, the NNPC is now sabotaging these efforts by manipulating the local market, falsely claiming that our refineries are operational, and further compounding the problem by selling crude in dollars to the local market. As a result, the very solution we prayed for has been undone. The continued local demand for dollars to purchase crude will push the exchange rate higher, forcing marketers to pass the cost onto consumers, leading to relentless inflation.
We're back to square one. So why are you defending this government's actions?
nairalanda1: Well, good morning and good luck, young squire
you don't have a defence ,, I really want to take you on ,, you just come to social media space and start spewing rubbish ,, in support of your oppressors , people are playing games with the life of the masses , but you come to such space and be speaking trash .. what do you stand to gain ..
nairalanda1: So you want the government to bring back subsides and by extension worsen our debt birden and ruin our refining sector?
Okay.
since you know how well to defend government, please explain to me how the NNPC can declare that there is no crude for local refiners in naira , how our own crude will be sold to us in dollars ,, please explain this or forever shut your mouth up in public space ..
helinues: So na Sallah gifts from the oil marketers to us be this?
please , is this Oil marketer issue our your bastard government that pays you to influence public opinion.. and NNPC openly declares that they do not have crude for local consumption only if the local refiners will buy in dollar and you can open your mouth to put the blame on marketers .. what are you gaining from this ?
