I once mentioned that our School's proprietor is a "parents'-ass-licker" which I'm re-emphasising now.
Yesterday, a parent came and insulted me and was just about slapping me when someone stopped her. It all because I delayed the boy from going home until he recites 4times table(which the boy had learnt by the time I was through coaching him o). Today, I was expecting our oga to call the lady to order after hearing the whole issue, just for him to personally go to the lady's house and apologised to her and come back to tell me to stomach every nonsense a parent dishes me and he will rather loose 10 teachers than to loose 1 parent(no matter how hostile they are).
After teaching 50 subjects in a week, writing comprehensive lesson notes, decorating the classroom(the classes aren't painted); parents very hostile attitude etc, the man pays me only 12k.
Pleeeeeeeaaaassseeee! Help. I'm a mother and stays at Ilasa.

My dear abeg listen to "givemejoy" .dis holiday go on serious lookout for another school.

Of course there would be..but here "on the thread" we usually advice u go around within ur area first and drop ur cv with schools around ur vicinity.

I am not sure they recruit for v-connect but if u live close u may give it a try and come give us feedback..buh I did findout that they are into empowerment in terms of talent discovery n training which I personally don't see as recruitment((just my opinion tho)) !! U may give it a shot and let us know but if they ask u to pay anything, before giving you a job..then it means they are fake

Hmmmm!! Interesting.. From my view I tink he feels threatened by u.. Either by your looks(asin more handsome)lol! Or by the way u do ur job(possibly u dot ur I n cross T) or maybe he notices ur boss is taking a liking to u over a lotta others that hav been there before you.. It may be for multiple of other reasons but either way he is threatened by you..
My suggestion is u use psycology to get by... "Find out his temperament and blend in"..
Someone once said something where I once worked. He said and I quote "U don't have to be friends to work together but if we are, the better".. So u don't have to b friends ,just try finding out his temperament and u wud see how predictable his actions are n dat way u can get around ur job wihout havin him gettin on ur nerves

Evening jare ! Ma broda... I got ur email n sent one right back..

This is what happened ..I went to a school which someone said I should go for housemaster poSt (not bols international o!)..this sch is somewhere on d way to alagbado. When I got there n was shown d hostel..infactikwanu.. It was a total mess.!! An eye-saw.. The dormitory was so rough, I almost tot we were in a poorly funded orphanage. They said it was about 12students per dormitory n I only saw one bathroom n toilet which was together like the one in most homes.. I asked them(principal n d man dat brought the key) "so u mean 12students share one bathroom & toilet?" He cudnt answer and I said this is unethical.. Dats not all o.. The matresses were lookin like bed bug infested matresses.. Rats were runnin around in d room in broad daylight!! My eyes almost poped out of their sockets.. Going outside to check their cloth line I dicovered that the girls and boys hang their clothes in same place..(no demarkation at all)..
That's still not all o! I asked where the housemasters quaters was and to my horror they said the housemaster sleeps in same dormitory infact on same bed.. The housemaster would jus pick one bed n b sleepin on it jus like the students. And dat he shares same bathroom n toilet wif the students..(Laff cash me!!)) Cos wetin I dey tink for my mind b say so if student dey shit n housemaster is pressed. He go just stand for door dey dance say make the student hurry come out make him use toilet..(Dats drastically ridiculous)..I have never seen such type of thing(if they wud call dat a hostel)..
Dats still not all o! A teacher I asked there told me Their teachers take as much as 30-36periods (some excluding sch lesson o) so if lesson periods are added I wonder how many periods dat wud be..
Dats not all o!! Do u know the principal got wind dat I asked number of periods from a teacher and he got really pissed..he started given me the "work hard lecture"lol!! (Dat aint hard work its slave task).. He didn't even finish his lecture before I told him politely dat I won't take the job and there would not b need for us to discuss salary.. Cos I can't see myself functioning properly under these outragious conditions.. Oh!! Lest I forget ..their closing time is 6pm n they told me dat the students in the hostel have prep till 11pm n d principal even boasted that the prep time should b stretched to 12pm.. Of which the students have to walk across the street like 5 blocks away or more to the hostel after prep..
My people on top how much naa!! Their salary range as I discoverd is btw 25-35k.dependin on experience..

Got there and true to the fact there was vacancy. I spoke with the principal and he asked me to drop ma cv. He did a sortta preliminary interview n asked me to come back on monday. Would go for the interview on monday n keep y'all posted.. Also still would b scouting for more houseparent vacancies or teaching vacancies too sha cos I no wan carry last..
