One day Jesus was chilling, minding his own business when some crowd came dragging along this woman with torn cloths and swollen eyes. Jesus heard the hullabaloo from afar and almost sent Andrew to go and check because he was already tired of dealing with the Jews and their endless troubles and moreover he had just returned from Nazareth where he worked overtime all weekend fixing his Mom and Aunty Elizabeth's broken utensils. Little did he know the crowd was actually coming his way and before he could dive into a corner and let the crowd pass, they were upon him.

Ahead of the crowd were the Pharisees in their colourful and flowing gowns complete with phylacteries. Whenever they come fully clothed like that everyone knew trouble was near and Jesus has not even been in good terms with these guys. They have repeatedly accused him of heresy and more than once his crew had locked robes with them in a street fight. One particular event was along the Via Dolorosa near Mary Magdalene's Spice shop close the East Gate in Jerusalem. Jesus was there, just chilling with Mary and Martha and their brother Lazarus whom he had just resurrected from the dead when these guys came along in their usual noisy procession and the moment they saw Jesus and his crew changed their songs to something about "the impostor from Nazareth." Jesus seeing the group of Roman centurions behind them decided to ignore their unprovoked pertulence. But this particular crew would not let an opportunity to taunt him pass so they changed the song to something about Jesus being a bastard born out of wedlock and Joseph his father not being man enough to shame his then bethroted wife Mary. One guy actually danced in Simon Peter's face, flapping his robes in a provocative gesture specifically executed to infuriate the famously temperamental fisherman.

That was the first time Peter drew his sword and almost killed a man, the leader of the procession, were it not for the swift intervention of Martha who flew off like a kite and knocked Peter to the ground. It was a messy fight. A few teeth flew and some robes were torn and bloodied. Peter would sleep in a cell in the West wing of Herod's Jerusalem Palace that night. It took the intervention of his mother-in-law whom Jesus had healed of a horrible fever a few days back to get him out without charges. Rumours had it that were he not quickly removed that day, the Sanhedrin had already hatched up plans to send him to Rome by sunrise and have him murdered near Bel Haifa, Caiphas' village. For the man he almost stabbed was Judea ben Yehuda the High Priest's favorite nephew.

So that day when the crowd got to him Jesus decided to pretend he hadn't noticed them. They threw the woman at his feet and demanded to know his opinion on adultery. He pretended they weren't even there and instead continued to draw on the ground while repeatedly calling them "Vipers! Racca! Vipers!! Racca!!!" under his breath.

"Rabbi, did you not say you know everything? That you are the son of God? We are talking to you. Are you not going to talk to us? You say you know everything, you say you can grant absolution from sin, our prophets say when a woman is caught with a man that is not her husband she must be stoned to death, what is your own opinion on that? What sayest thou Rabbi, Son-of-God!" they asked in jest and laughed, pating each other on the back.

That was when Jesus looked up and saw them. He knew each of them very well. They were his most notorious detractors. In fact they were the very crew who paid a Syrian sicario 200 Shekels four Passovers ago to have him murdered when he was in Capernum with Matthew and James his younger brother for the great feast. What the Pharisees didn't know was that after that attempt in Capernum Jesus had spoken with his cousin John The Baptist who lent him two of his trusted followers to find out everything about the guys such that he now has a fat file on all the major Pharisees in town. Everything, from where they secretly go to eat pork in Samaria during the great fast, to where they go to patronize cheap women during the Holy Month were all documented in that file.

"Today is the day I fall their hands" he thought to himself as he looked up and saw them. He exchanged knowing looks with Judas Iscariot who was responsible for compiling the dozier after months of discrete detective work. Judas Iscariot was originally John the Baptist's guy who was lent to Jesus after Jesus told his cousin that he needed some eagle eyed guy who can do some secret detective work on the pharisees and sadducees who pulled the assassination attempt on him in Capernaum. Jesus fell in love Judas after he delivered excellently on the job and subsequently offered him the position of Treasurer in his crew with a starting weekly pay of 3Talents and 2Shekels plus free chow and sleeping space anytime their hustle took them outside Galilee.

So it came to pass that as the leading Pharisee asked the questions again and Judas looked at Jesus and gave him the knowing smile, Jesus rose, dusted his palms one against the other and calling their names one by one asked:

"If you know, you don't have a side chic, cast the first stone."

Dazed they thought they didn't hear him well and looked at each other confused, their heavy stones still in their hands. Jesus, pointing at each of them one by one (see picture below), went specific.

"You, yes you, are you not Zacharias son og Jedediah, father of Yeshau of the tribe of Naphtali?"

The man nodded and Judas as if choreographing with Jesus rolled out a long scroll from under his thick garments and proceeded like a judge reading charges:

"Do you Zacharias not have a side chic in Capernum by the name of Deborah daughter of Obadiah?"

A dazed Zacharias quickly dropped his stone and taking slow back steps, turned and fled, his gowns flying in the wind.

"Wait for me" cried Zerubabel after him.
His name was next on the list and his wife was in the crowd.
