The British invading force crushed and plundered Benin forces and artifacts in just a matter of days, Ovonramwen Nogbaisi fled into exile in Calabar after the fall of Benin so where did he amass the fighting power to prosecute a guerilla war for 2 years? the Aros fought for British for way longer but the only recorded part of the conflict was from 1901-02 when slave trade was been threatened and the long juju of Aro (Ubini Ukpabi) which was reputed to be the most feared epicenter of slave routes/trades was finally discovered by the British did they then send a large expeditionary force to destroy it. After the fall of the Aro confederacy, there were still organized and fierce resistance that continued until about 1908...

Also note that the bulk of the leaders and men that formed the Ekumeku secret society that resisted the British from 1883-1914 came from Aro (Arondizuogu) in the western Igbo axis.

It lasted only a few hours but on the record it was a little above a week because the oba ran and hid himself. So it took more time to find him.

You have to understand the mindset of these people. Their small size is making them seek aliances. There is an Ijaw political group that visited Ndoki kings in Abia state to convince them to align with Ijaws and deny being Igbos. These ijaw political groups invaded the Ndoki Facebook page too, to tell you how serious this movement is.

Their sizes makes them insecure, because history have shown that they can be crushed in a few days in a war with any majority ethnic group in Nigeria. So, they are going to people who do not even share the same language with them claiming kinship.

They are not the only one, even Bini with only 3 local government are doing the same thing. The Bini people in alliance with Urhobo (which is understandable) are hunting for alliance in Anioma groups to as far as Yorubas in Lagos state. They even invaded Ile Ife people groups trying to convince Yorubas in Ile-Ife to come under their umbrella. Bini was invaded in one day by Biafra and less than 30 minutes by the British people. Put this into context, it took a 30 years war at Arochukwu for the British people to win the war with the Igbos.

This makes them insecure, and they would seek for alliance anyway they can. They don't actually care for these people they are trying to claim, they have nothing much in common, they are just seeking for alliance.

My point is that Niger Delta may not be realistic as I think most people like Efik, Ibibio, Benin may prefer to stay on their own and from the look of things if Efik and Ibibio fail to be their own country they are most likely to join the Igbos in Biafra, that reduces Niger Delta to an Ijaw and some smaller tribes like Isokko and Ogoni republic that's if Ogonis would not want to be alone, hating on the Igbos is not going to bring Niger Delta, from the look of things Igbos are not our problem
