The moment I saw that provision in the bill, I knew that the likes of Malami and the governors will fight against it. So I wasn't surprised when I heard that Malami wrote a letter to Buhari advising him to reject the bill and I wasn't surprised either when Buhari went ahead to reject it. All that is going on is just high level political power play ahead of the primaries in APC ahead of 2023 elections. This is the same power play that has made them to keep postponing the APC convention and elongating Buni's tenure as Caretaker committee chairman and now they are even suggesting not doing the convention until after the primaries in other to ensure that Buni or one of their loyalists is in charge when the primaries are done. The mistake Obi made was not declaring the joint assets of him and children I.e the one jointly owned by him and his children because he thought it falls under the category of what he wasn't supposed to declare. And he said that was done on the advice of his lawyers. Morever, there's absolutely no way it could have been Anambra money he used in those accounts because assets declarations happen BEFORE you are sworn into office so how could he have stolen public money before being sworn in as governor? The governorship of Anambra was the first time Obi occupied any public office and neither the EFCC or any govt agency has charged him with mismanagement of public funds since he left office in 2014.

I wasn't passing judgement on who was at fault in the breakdown of their marriage, I don't have any facts or concrete information to judge that. The only fact I know is that she was the one that filed for divorce and he didn't want the divorce. He even did everything possible to avoid getting served with the divorce papers until he was arrested in the UK and forcefully served the papers. So you can't say he should go back to his wife when he wasn't the one that left her and he never wanted to. She was the one that wanted and fought for the dissolution of the marriage. I believe he is still hoping they will get back together and that's why he has remained unmarried or do you think a man like pastor Chris will have a shortage of willing women if he wanted to remarry?
