Software/Programmer Market / Reasons Why Microsoft Skipped Window 9 by VictorOme(f): 1:10pm On Oct 01, 2014
Reasons Why Microsoft Skipped Window 9

They have been a lot of questions after the unveiling of Microsoft OS 10, Why Microsoft Skipped Window 9.

According to Marco Chiappetta who is a contributor to Forbs said that;

“The “official” story out of Microsoft’s event was that the company didn’t feel it was right to call it Windows 9 because of the sheer number of changes coming with the OS and because they wanted to convey a sense of uniformity and oneness. Unfortunately, “Windows 1 has been done” was mentioned at the event. So instead, Microsoft chose Windows 10.

It’s not clear to me how a higher, double-digit number shows more uniformity than a 9, which is can be written (or animated) in a single stroke. And I’m also unclear as to why Microsoft didn’t choose Windows One, due to the obvious possible tie-ins the company could make with the Xbox One, but I digress”.

Politics / Arms Purchase Scandal Linked To Sambo Dasuki by VictorOme(f): 10:54am On Sep 17, 2014
Arms Purchase Scandal Linked To Sambo Dasuki

Aftermath of Jet ownership claimed by CAN president, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor though he also claimed to have leased the said jet to someone else and he has no control over what is use for during the time, the office of the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, has also been fingered in the bungled arms purchase deal that involved two yet-to-identified Nigerians and an Abuja-based Israeli man, Eyal Mesika.

In a series of interviews, Nigerian security sources told SaharaReporters that the men caught in South Africa with cash of close to $10 million had ties to the NSA’s office.

The Nigerian government has maintained a curious silence since the scandal broke on September 5 when South African law enforcement agents confiscated $9.3 million from two Nigerian private jets that landed at Lanseria Airport in Johannesburg.

However, a source in the Presidency told SaharaReporters that the government had reached out to South Africa and explained that the arms purchase deal had Abuja’s official approval. Despite such assurances, the deal has continued to raise dust and trigger questions.

Buhari Vanguard Demand Arrest Of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

The Chairman of Buhari Vanguard Jasper Azuatalam have demanded that the CAN President Papa Ayo Oritsejafor should and must be arrest of illegal arm smuggling operation.

In a statement released today, the Chairman of The Buhari Vanguard, Jasper Azuatalam, demanded that Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor be arrested for his involvement in the South African arms smuggling operation foiled yesterday, when two Nigerians and an Israeli man were stopped in South African with close to $10million in cash.

Condemning the illegal operation and the suspicious handling of a purported arms purchase, the Buhari Vanguard made the assertion that the weaponry was being purchased for use by terrorists, pirates, and other militants in the Niger Delta.

"This contravention of the South African law and other laws governing the movement of cash and the purchase of arms and ammunition proves that the intended transaction was illegal and is possibly intended to smuggle arms to Nigerian to continue to equip terrorists in the North, pirates and militants in the Niger Delta and other forms of insurgence in Nigeria," the statement claimed.

The statement also charged that this move might be a political ploy to malign the 2015 presidential election, given the relationship between Pastor Oritsejafor and President Jonathan. "We are aware that Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor is a very close confidant and friend/brother to President Goodluck Jonathan and his family," it said. "We have several reasons to believe that this is in preparation for the 2015 general election."

Arrest and Investigate Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor Now Over His Link with the Alleged Arms Smuggling Jet in South Africa

Sepember 16, 2014. Lagos

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press, yesterday we received the news that two Nigerians and an Israeli was caught in South Africa for smuggling about US$10 million, which is about 1.7 Billion Naira, to buy arms. Today, further revelations have proved that the private jets used for the operation are owned by Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, President of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN and Mr Felix Idiga, the owner of Jafac Aviation Limited.

According to the revelation, the private jet with a US registration number N808HG was one of two jets cited by South African officials on September 5 and is owned by Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor. The second is a jet registered with the name Felix Idiga, the owner of Jafac Aviation Limited. Mr. Oritsejafor's jet arrived South Africa with $9.3 million cash loaded in several suitcases meant for the purchase of arms and ammunitions.

Investigations have confirmed that Under the South African laws, a person entering or leaving the country is expected to carry cash not exceeding R25, 000 (about US$2, 300), or the equivalent in foreign currency notes. Also, arms usually involve a complex bank transfer system needed to move the money between the countries involved in the deal; they are rarely done in cash.

This contravention of the South African law and other laws governing the movement of cash and the purchase of arms and ammunitions proves that the intended transaction was illegal and is possibly intended to smuggle arms to Nigerian to continue to equip terrorists in the North, pirates and militants in the Niger Delta and other forms of insurgence in Nigeria. We have several reasons to believe that this is in preparation for the 2015 general election.

We are aware that Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor is a very close confidant and friend/brother to President Goodluck Jonathan and his family. We also know that the federal Government of Nigeria has several official private jets and knows the normal procedure for procuring arms and ammunition for the nation. Hence, there would not have been a reason to use a private jet belonging to Pastor Oritsejafor to smuggle Millions of Dollars and attempt to buy arms in a way that contravenes international laws.

In view of this, the Buhari Vanguard demands that Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the leader of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN and a close friend to President Goodluck Jonathan, alongside Mr Felix Idiga, the owner of Jafac Aviation Limited be immediately arrested by Security operatives and investigated.

We also demand that the names of the two Nigerians and Israeli who smuggled the Millions of Dollars in South Africa be made public. Our nation should be on alert owing to the high level of insurgence ravaging our country Nigeria and our government should be able to act fast to forestall further damage to our nation.

God Bless Nigeria

Com Jasper Azuatalam

Chairman, Buhari Vanguard

Big Brother Africa House at Sasani Studios Is On Fire

News just reaching us that Big Brother Africa House at Sasani Studios is on fire and it has led to the councillation of the show that was suppose to kick off this month 7th September 2014, although no one was injured in the fire that took over the studio today North in Johannesburg.

The cause of the fire which erupted and plunged the production into further crisis is not know. Production company Endemol South Africa and M-Net had no choice but to cancel the start of the show which has seen multiple production challenges the past few weeks before the cameras had even started rolling.

Due to stringent changes to South Africa’s visa regulations, Endemol South Africa first had to dump the originally selected contestants from Ghana and start a frantic search for Ghana residents already living in South Africa to put in the show.

Then Endemol South Africa had to also jettison Rwanda and Sierra Leone as countries from the 9th season which was set to start on Sunday with highlight shows running on AfricaMagic Showcase (DStv 150) and two 24-hour DStv TV channels on channels 197 and 198.

After battling the blaze, M-Net and Endemol South Africa say that “due to a devastating fire at the Big Brother house, Big Brother Hotshots will not launch this Sunday as scheduled”.

“The cause of the fire at this stage is unknown and investigations will commence as soon as it is safe to do so.”

“At this stage M-Net and Endemol are urgently looking for an alternative Big Brother house in which to film the production, however as this production has highly technical infrastructure, alternative camera and edit requirements are not immediately available”.

“Every effort will be made to find a solution as quickly as possible to ensure that Africa’s biggest reality TV show will continue”.

Nairaland / General / Guardian Driver Violate A 15 Year Old Nursing Mother by VictorOme(f): 9:11am On Aug 20, 2014
Guardian Driver Violate A 15 Year Old Nursing Mother

In the eyes of Nelson Eke, he is an heartless man, a man who had no self respect for another mans child just the terrible crime he had committed by raping this 15 year old nursing mother.

According to Vanguard reported that the teenage mother who had gone through a lot in the last few months, living with a guardian at No. 18, Ogo-Oluwa Street, off Sabo Bus-Stop, Ojodu Berger, Lagos, was not only a dream come true, but a second chance to put the broken pieces of her life together.

But the desire to have a fresh start seems to be vanishing into thin air as the unexpected happened recently, when her guardian’s driver, Nelson Eke, allegedly tied her up and raped her after her madam went to church.

Crime Alert learnt that on that fateful day, her guardian reportedly went to church by public transport after her driver claimed that the car had suddenly developed a fault, without anyone suspecting he had an ulterior motive. The woman gave the driver N6,000 with which to repair the car before leaving for church and asked him to bring it to church after fixing it.

Immediately madam left the house, instead of taking the vehicle to the mechanic, he came inside and asked the victim to give him drinking water, which she did before he allegedly tied her and raped her, after which he took the car to the mechanic for repairs.

A family source told Crime Alert, “At about 8am when Loveth was taking breakfast downstairs after madam left the house for church, Uncle Nelson (madam’s driver) requested for drinking water.

She reportedly left her food, went upstairs to get him water. After giving him water, she came back to the kitchen downstairs, carried her food to the dining area to continue eating when Nelson came inside and poured engine oil into her cup of tea and asked her to drink it.

“Initially, she refused to drink it but he pushed the chair where she was sitting down and she fell, hitting her head on the floor. He then poured the tea into her mouth forcefully. As she struggled to run, she fell down. He then used his shoe to press her hand down to the ground. When she tried shouting, he used her wrapper to cover her mouth, tied the other hand as well and raped her.”

It was gathered that while she was struggling to loosen herself, one of the dining chairs fell on her chest. She was there till her madam came back at about 2pm.

Lamentation

The family source lamented the fate that befell Loveth: “For goodness sake, Loveth is a nursing mother trying to make amends for her past mistake only for this man to rape her. She works as a maid for her madam who takes good care of her and her baby.”

It was further gathered that when her madam returned from church, she saw the victim upstairs, tied down and eventually reported the case to the police. The victim was also taken to the hospital where tests were carried out.

Although the suspect, Nelson, agreed to have had carnal knowledge of her, he denied using her wrapper to tie her up. The case is still being investigated by men of the State CID, Panti, in Lagos.

Kim Kardashian Mother Unveil Kim's Love Making Video For $13USD million dollars

Kris Jenner denied having a striking deal with Vivid Entertainment back in 2007 to unveil her own daughter’s love making video between Kim Kardashian and her ex lover Ray J.

Kris did, however, admit to having been heavily involved in the production. “I wore several hats,” the Kardashian matriarch told media. “I was the director, executive producer, did most of the camera work, and let them use my bedroom.”

Kris also revealed that Bruce Jenner, her wax-faced husband, was in charge of craft service and occasionally stepped in to lend his hand as the fluffer.

“But I drew the line at selling the video,” says Kris, who claims that’s where her and her husband’s involvement ended.

“I mean, that’s my daughter we’re talking about. What kind of mother would I be if I put the video in an unmarked manila envelope and slipped it to a Vivid employee under cover of night with specific instructions on where to deposit the 13 million dollars?”

When asked to comment, both Kim and Ray J. denied that Kris was responsible for leaking the tape, but spoke highly of her artistic vision.

Celebrity Interview: Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde Talks About Being Scandal Free

Before Omotola her family went for their holiday trip to South Africa, The Sun had an interview session with her.

In this Celebrity interview session, Omotolola Aka Omosexy quickly talks about Her Fears, Success, Achievements and Being Scandal Free.

On how to be a successful woman: “It actually starts with character, personality and beliefs. Everything wrong today actually started from the content of a character. Are you immoral or are you straight forward enough to actually say something and carry through with it. Is the content of your character strong enough? I believe that for you to be great in anything, you have to be someone anyone can trust.you believe in. It stems from your moral.”

On what success means to her: “I think success is when God is happy with you. When the closest people around you are happy with you and when your soul is at peace with you.”

On her greatest achievements: “I have so many great achievements and I am very grateful to God. I can talk about great achievements today because God has empowered me to build my character. At no point did I see all these coming. I never said, ‘let me start being a good girl so that in the future, they will call me to speak, not only on Nollywood but also in mentorship capacity outside Nollywood’. I never said ‘okay, let me be a good girl so that Time magazine will make me a Time 100 woman’; I never thought about all these things. But by God`s grace, I am here today. He taught me to follow a particular life pattern when I was young. And I am grateful that pattern has brought me this far. My greatest achievement is that I got to know God on time; it was a great privilege.”

On her fears & what makes her cry: “Don’t believe me when I cry because I might actually be trying to get something out of you (Laughter). My husband says he doesn’t know when to take me serious, whether it’s when I am crying or sober. But I am naturally a very emotional person, quite frankly. I hate injustice; I can’t stand it. When I see somebody who is helpless, I feel like that person’s humanity has been taken away from him and that makes me cry.”

On her story: “At a stage, people looked down on me. They tried to deny me my credit and make me feel insecure. But you know you deserve what you get as long as you have worked hard enough. So, no matter what you are going through, you’re not the only person facing tragedy in life; it happens to everyone.”

On her daughters following in her footsteps: “Why not, if they want to? I actually encourage them to be whatever they desire to be in life as long as it is not something wrong and negative. Currently, none of them is interested in acting, but if they do, I will support and equip them with whatever tools they need to excel. Unfortunately, none has for now.”

On being scandal free: “People will always speculate about you and it could be very disheartening, especially when you have chosen to live right. I don’t want to sound like some holier-than-though whatever, but I work very hard to keep my brand away from scandals. I have fought. I have had to and I will not accept for you to humiliate me before everybody’. Often they try to be mischievous but I stick to my guns (they) stand and say, ‘hey! This is what I stand for times they have also turned around to say sorry. For heaven’s sake, I am responsible for the actions and decisions that I take.”

Why Sambisa Forest Could Not Be Destroyed With Grade One Bombing

In this news information from My Daily News Watch, the Nigerian Defense Headquarter explain it's reason why Sambisa Forest Could Not be Destroyed using grade one bombing technique.

According to Director of Defense Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, said in Abuja that the Nigerian military has what it takes to fight Boko Haram insurgents, adding that despite the odds, the military would soon defeat the terrorists that are giving the citizens sleepless nights.

“The Nigerian military is well trained for the kind of war that it is presently engaged in. Even before the advent of terrorism, our training doctrine has factored in counter-terrorism right from the beginning.

“It’s only that the intensity may differ but everybody has knowledge of counter terrorism operations. It’s just that it’s only now that we are practicing it in reality,” he told his audience in Abuja.

Also concerning hardware and equipment, the defence spokesperson said Nigerians should “be sure that it is incremental but you would see them when they are in action.”

He debunked allegations of corruption and human rights abuses against the military, saying such claims were capable of demoralising those engaged in securing the territorial integrity of the country.

“Those series of allegations of corruption are unfounded; the series of allegations of cowardice are rather demoralising and other forms of insinuations in various forms only tend to give the impression the Nigerian armed forces are not capable of managing the situation.

“Unfortunately, this has remained a source of worry to the international community that held us in very high esteem. But the Nigerian armed forces have not been sleeping; we have been available in putting our expertise at the service of other nations. We have more of this in which we can put into the disposal of our country at a time like this, and all we would need are encouragement of our fellow countrymen and their understanding.

“We can only assure them that we mean well. The officers that are put in charge of these men are trained to be leaders. We should let them do the job in times like this. The integrity of everybody is at stake, and the time has come when we should rather reduce the level of accusations that are meant to demoralise and discourage.”

Olukolade said the goal of the Nigerian military and security forces at the moment “is to deny the terrorists the resources they need to continue to hold our citizens to ransom. We want to defeat them so decisively that every Nigerian can live in peace and be able to pursue his economic and social activities.

“We want to counter terrorism to the point that their coordination and their ability their future effort to destabilize and cause instability in our country will be negligible or non-existent. We also want to ensure that the military will continue to contribute to the development and progress of our country’s democratic state.”

He warned Nigerians and the media not to fall for the propaganda of the enemy concerning the exploits of Boko Haram saying that many attacks being staged by the group in recent times were only a sign of their desperation in the face of limited operational spaces.

“The truth about recent attacks by Boko Haram is that all the places that they thought were their bases have been taken over by the military and so out of desperation, they are scattering everywhere. What they are doing is like a last battle for them.

“There had been occasions when the terrorists were reported to be using helicopters in their attacks whereas it was the Nigerian military helicopter that was flying to attack the rebels.

“Nonetheless, we are still committed to securing the civilian population at whatever cost. We are still committed in ensuring that we degrade their ability to continue their activity and eventually eliminate them,” he declared.

Olukolade declined to give details but assured that the abducted Chibok school girls would be rescued, adding that it is not true that after securing Sambisa Forest, Boko Haram fighters re-took it from the military.

He said: “The Sambisa issue is strategic. We are now clearly out of Sambisa as I am talking to you. We are in Sambisa and we are in places contiguous to it.
“Sambisa Forest is over 6,000 square kilometres. It is not true that the place was re-taken by Boko Haram. There is freedom of movement in Nigeria and so, people move about freely. Do you know that there are village settlements and communities in the Sambisa Forest and that is another limitation to bombing?”
Olukolade continued, saying: “No portion of this country is available for terrorists to occupy. If they appear to be doing so, it is just a joke.

With respect to this location, everything is being done to ensure that everywhere in Nigeria is safe and secure.”

Concerning the recent report by Amnesty International indicting the military for allegedly violating human rights of citizens in the North East, he said: “Our team of investigators are already going round, calling people to assist them. They have invited officials of AI to help them verify what they presented in the report. I know that they are working frantically to produce their report and they are not leaving anything untouched but we hope that those who made those allegations equally have the level of respect for that body to tell our investigators what they know.”

The National Coordinator of I-Nigerian Initiative urged security agencies and media to be partners in national development and be seen as working towards the same goal.

She said: “We should be wary of individuals and groups that may have their own selfish agenda and want to scuttle our national development by squabbling and devastating selfish interest.”

Some ladies outside can not even defend their results, they can not show it to the public that they are graduate from a higher institution because they do not know where to begin from.

Mrs Decontee Sawyer (Wife To Late Patric Sawyer) Defends Her Late Husband And My Husband Travels To Seek For Better Healthcare System

In an article published earlier today, TMZ Liberia Magazine quoted Decontee Sawyer, who is a radio host in New York, as explaining that Mr. Sawyer had no trust in the healthcare system in Liberia and had possibly headed to Nigeria with the hope of receiving better treatment for his ailment.

Mrs. Sawyer shared her thoughts on her Facebook profile from which TMZ Liberia sourced it for publication.

“I've read other reports in other papers (not the New York Times) about Patrick’s “recklessness.” I get where they’re coming from, and they certainly have the right to feel the way they do. However, as Patrick’s widow, I would like to shed some light on this from another perspective. One that only I, his wife, would know,” she wrote.

“I knew Patrick better than anybody else (including himself). He had told me many times in the past how much he didn't trust the Liberian healthcare system. He would tell me about how a person would get checked in for one thing, and get misdiagnosed and get the wrong treatment as a result. On top of that, Patrick was a clean freak, and told me how filthy a lot of the hospitals were.

“He didn't tell me this, but I know in my heart of hearts that Patrick was determined to get to Nigeria by all means because he felt that Nigeria would be a place of refuge. He has expressed to me many times in the past that he felt passionately about helping to be a part of strengthening Liberia’s healthcare system, but he knew it wasn't there yet, and he wouldn't want to take a chance with his life because a lot of people depended on him… Patrick had a passion for life, and he wouldn't have wanted his to end. So, I bet anything that he was thinking, if I could only get to Nigeria, a way more developed country than Liberia, I would be able to get some help. How ironic.”

Many Nigerians, and even Liberians, condemned Mr Sawyer for traveling to Nigeria despite knowing that he was carrying Ebola virus before embarking on the trip. Some Nigerians on social media have described him as a “biological terrorist” arguing that he came into the country deliberately to spread the disease.

On Monday in Abuja, President Goodluck Jonathan described Mr Sawyer’s decision to travel to Nigeria as pure “madness” and “craziness.”

“Sawyer that brought this Ebola to Nigeria; his sister died of Ebola. And he started acting somehow, his country asked him not to leave the country, let them observe him, but the crazy man decided to leave and found his way here,” President Jonathan said.

In her post, Mrs. Sawyer wrote that the fact that her husband avoided contact with others at the James Sprigg Payne’s Airport in Monrovia as revealed by airport CCTV footage proved he didn't set out to infect others with the disease and perhaps his actions were that of a dying man in desperate search for help.

“It has been reported that Patrick avoided physical contact with everyone he came across during his trip from Liberia to Nigeria. When he got to Nigeria, he turned himself in letting them know that he had just flown in from Liberia.

“Patrick went to Nigeria for help so that he can get properly diagnosed, and not misdiagnosed in Liberia. And if it came back that he did have Ebola, he trusted the Nigerian healthcare system a lot more than he trusted the Liberian’s. His action, as off as it was, was a desperate plea for help. Patrick didn't want to die, and he thought his life would be saved in Nigeria.”

Mrs. Sawyer then took a swipe at the Liberian President, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, who said Mr Sawyer was indiscipline and disrespectful for failing to heed medical advise not to travel.

Mrs Sawyer said if President Johnson-Sirleaf had fixed the healthcare system in Liberia, her husband would not have left in search of treatment elsewhere.

“I write today, not simply because of Patrick, but because of the broken healthcare system in the Liberia, and the government’s inability under President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (and other past Presidents) to fix it. Good doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers aren't given the support they need to save lives.

“President Sirleaf went on CNN News throwing stones at Patrick, a man who can no longer defend himself, a man who worked tirelessly for Liberia. She should be ashamed of herself. I use to admire this woman, and was excited and proud of her accomplishment as the first woman President in the entire continent of Africa. She will always own that. We will always own that. It can’t be taken away from her. It’s something to be proud of. But this woman has failed her country,” she wrote.

Nigeria was free of Ebola until July 20 when Mr. Sawyer arrived.

He became terribly ill on his flight and was rushed to the First Consultant Hospital Obalende, Lagos, where he died on July 24.

Nigeria’s Health Minister, Onyebuchi Chukwu, said on Monday that although the Liberian government has apologized for the incidence, it was pertinent to note that Nigeria was free of Ebola Virus until its importation by the Liberian-American.

Mr. Sawyer’s action, he said, has placed unnecessary stress on Nigeria’s health system.

Since Mr. Sawyer’s death in a Lagos hospital, two other persons who had contact with him have died of the virus. At least eight others have also tested positive to the infection and have been quarantined at a Lagos hospital.

President Goodluck Jonathan has since declared a national emergency on the disease while the Federal Health Ministry in Conjunction with Health Ministries in the 36 states are working to prevent the spread of the virus, which has killed over 1,000 people in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
