tunapawizzy: this is still not up to half of what US alone imported from China in 2024(nearly $440billion). Africa does not speak with one voice economically, so it will not be wise for China to think they have the whole of African market because they have a good bilateral trade agreement with some African leaders. Wanting to use over 50 countries(with very low purchasing power) to replace 1 rich country that lives by consumerism and materialism is not it.
China have a trade surplus of $295bn over US compared to trade surplus of $61bn over Africa. This is not something they will find easy to overcome. We know they can produce, but can Africa afford to buy, meanwhile lots of African countries collecting stipend, subsidized medication and aides from US will not really tilt their trade allegiance to China tilting allegiance to china is not optional to Africa, Africans can't afford American products even when they were made in china talk more of now that they will be made in US |

PHIPEX: This is becoming madness and childish
US and China should simply close their boarders to each other and allow us enjoy our peace
China exports more to the US and will ultimately lose this war, the ideal thing is to get to the negotiation table and drop all these ego.
As big as China's economy has grown, it can easily be sabotaged by the US. US can easily blackmail African countries etc to stop buying from China
All Obama needed to sabotage Nigeria's fast growing economy was to support Bubu in 2015, now we are a shadow of ourselves if I Africa don't buy from China where will they buy from |

The U.S. is pressuring the EU to cut economic ties with China as a condition for a future trade deal and tariff relief.
The overall US strategy is to decouple from China, and any country who wishes to have a trade deal with the US will also have to distance itself from Beijing. many countries will leave US for china ,Africa is on this table |

Gbadebo19: Lol, China is the one feeling the heat very badly. Contrary to what you said yesterday, there has been no protest in USA. On the other hand, China is the one that can't win this tariff war. There is just no way. They have just slapped another 84% tariff on USA goods. All this tariff from China does not do USA any significant harm cos USA Economy is not export dependent unlike Chinese economy that is extremely dependent on export and on USA market for that matter. USA has a very very strong internal purchase power unlike China with a very very weak one. Trump will still raise it to 400%. By the time the full effects are on China, it will take China a long time to recover. All these tariffs China is using as retaliation are just the mere kicks of a dying horse. yet china is not complaining,it is US that is calling china to negotiation table,it is US that is begging china not to devalue currency in order to cushion the effect. China only responded without saying anything but US is crying |

Gbadebo19: And that's exactly where the division comes in. OPEC doesn't have a strong alliance like that to come to agreement to cut production. Some countries, like Nigeria rely heavily on oil that cutting production will only hamper their finances. Nigeria currently has a budget deficit of about 12 trillion or so, you think a country like Nigeria will agree to cut prices? I seriously don't think so most countries in OPEC are not even meeting up with the output quota slotted to them ,even Nigeria not until December 2024 they have not been meeting up with what is alloted to them. So it's the few countries that have the capacity to produce more that are running the show like Saudi Arabia and Russia few years back agreed to cut production and it affected the market price . And again a country like Nigeria will want oil prices to be hight, they will definitely cooperate because the key players can actually crash the price to a point where these followers can not make profit |
