I'm NOT a Muslim, but I know that in Nigeria, the major Islamic sects are the Sunnis, the Shiites, Ahmadiyas, Tijaniyya, Quadriya, Izalla, etc. I'm aware that Yorubas belong to all those Islamic sects or groups I have listed. So, you don't expect a Yoruba Imam who is an Ahmadiya or Shiite Muslim adherant to lead in prayer a congregation of Sunni Muslims. A Sunni Muslim of whatever ethnic group (Yorubas, Ebiras, Igalas, Nupes, Kanuri, Etsako in Edo North, etc) can surely lead others of let's say majority Hausa population of the same sect (Sunni or Shiite) if he is qualified like the Kano-based Yoruba Imam who I made reference to above.

Please get your FACTS right next time and you and other mainly Xtians MUST stop taunting Yorubas over this FAKE stories you all are circulating around about Hausas NOT allowing a Yoruba to lead a mosque in prayers or that Hausas see Yorubas as "fake" Moslems which is all a figment of your imaginations. Historically, Islam has been in Yorubaland for over 500 years (from the days of the great Oyo Empire which spanned from modern Nigeria, Benin Republic, and Togo) via long-distance trade contacts with the Mali Empire. The first mosque was built over 500 years ago in Yorubaland when even Uthman Danfodio's great grand parents had NOT yet been born. Period.
