Thanks, I actually got the iPad as a WiFi only iPad Air and when I found the sim tray there that's when I got a bit more curious. But i must say thay it works perfectly well with WiFi.

Issue).dont reload the os on that ipad else you would loose it completely.
There are very few engineers that work on baseband in nigeria.my suggestion get a mifi dongle If you want to browse with it or use it for multimedia.
