💣〽️ IFAB is set to revolutionize football with new rules that will be discussed this weekend! 🤯⚽

Here are the proposed changes aimed at tackling unsporting behavior and time-wasting: 👇

▫️ Goalkeepers will have a strict EIGHT-SECOND limit ⏱️🧤 to release the ball for goal kicks and throws.

👉 If they exceed the time, the opposing team will be awarded a corner kick for a late goal kick, or the throw will be reversed. ❌🚩

▫️ Any player requiring more than 8 seconds of treatment 🏥🤕 must leave the pitch for 60 seconds.

👉 An exception applies if the foul committed by the opponent results in a yellow or red card 🟨🟥, to avoid punishing a genuine victim.

👉 However, this temporary exclusion rule will not apply to goalkeepers 🧤.

▫️ During substitutions, players will have ONLY 10 SECONDS 🔄⏳ from the moment the fourth official displays the number board to leave the field.

👉 If the 10 seconds are exceeded, the team will play with ten men 🔟 until the next stoppage in play. ❌⚠️

▫️ VAR will be allowed to intervene on wrongly awarded corners 🚩📺 that lead to a goal and to correct a second unjustified yellow card 🟨❌.

As for the “Wenger Law” (offside rule change proposing that a player is only offside if their entire body is beyond the defender), discussions are still ongoing 🗣️📏.

The decisions made will come into force on June 1, just before the start of the 2026 World Cup 🌍🏆.
