There’s this page on Facebook with this kind of name: I know money can not buy happiness but I’d rather cry in a Ferrari. The first time I saw that page, I laughed. Why wish for something that would make you unhappy? If you definitely know that with all that money, life would still turn out to be a living hell, so I see no reason why you should wish for it at all. According to that page, wealthy is what I must become even if my life ends up being a living hell.

Many people think exactly like that. But they just don’t realize what they are giving up on their quest for wealth. True success includes peace of mind. But when you think of money as a matter of Do or Die, you do things that kill peace of mind. Guilt of hurting others to get your money kills peace of mind. Memories of their pain and tears kill peace of mind. No matter how rich you may be, no matter how many houses you may have built, I don’t care about how many cars you have, with peace of mind gone, you can never be classified as a success.

Getting rich shouldn’t be a matter of Get Rich or Die Trying. No body said anything about getting killed; not when you play it well and smart. Riches should be something you own. More like a trait or a birth right. Can birth rights be taken away from you? Even the law forbids that. It can never be taken away from you because it’s part of what defines YOU.

Like a guy said in his book, Superheroes do not work for compliments, but they do get them anyway. They get them because they deserve them. You, like he meant, are one of the superheroes. You need to focus on helping others. You need to focus on seeing people happy. Compliments, like he meant, are the things you deserve. With the right intention and right attitude, the compliment, in this case is money, will come no matter what. It will come because you’ve worked hard and you deserve it. When you make money in this way, you are a true success because peace of mind comes along with it. All you have to do is believe in yourself. You just need not to look down on yourself. I got a strange message from a man one day. In his message, he said if he was asked to start all over again that he could. He said it would be a lot easier since he knew the right stones to step on . When I read that part, the first thing that came to my mind was: did he just say “a lot easier”? I checked again and I realized he actually did. I figured he said that because he knew money wasn’t all that important. I figured he’s got a money making machine – his strong willing mind.

Starting all over again isn’t really that simple. The thought of the hardship alone is enough to make one sign their papers to early grave. But it’s nothing you can not overcome with your greatest treasure – your mind. When Napoleon Hill and his friends lost their estates that was indeed a bad time. Lucky him, he’s got a principle that worked for him; as a matter of fact it works for everyone, you just have to believe what it states (I won’t go into that for now. That’ll be some other time). His friends never had any principle. Frustration drove them mad. Some committed suicide while the rest committed crimes which later got them jailed.

It won’t be of any surprise if I tell you that Napoleon Hill made money after that time, will it? He once again became a rich man because he knew he could always raise more money over and over again so far his money machine is well preserved. Only when you realize that your mind is your true wealth will be forced to protect it. Only when you protect it will you be free of all worries. Think positive. Let your mind be filled with positive things and you’re on a good run.

Memories haunt. Especially the bad ones, and when they do, they haunt like hell. At a tender age, I wished I could erase the bad ones and leave the good ones to rock in my head. That obviously was one of those wishes a silly little boy like me could think of. If I were given the privilege at that time, I would gladly do it. But what would I stand to gain? – live happily ever after?

If I had successfully wiped out those bad memories, that would leave me with good ones, then my life would be no different from fairy tales. I know fairy tales are fables: Princess never had a frog prince – Beauty never married the Beast – Snow white never got woken by a lovely kiss from a prince; maybe that’s the reason why my wish never came to reality. I’ m grateful for that.

Bad memories may be filled with tragedies (no wonder it is called bad memory) – pain it brings that seem never ending – anguish it cast to one’s mind that seem everlasting – sleepless nights that make one lose hope on the idea of later falling asleep – countless of nightmares that make one wish night never came; these are often by products of bad memories. Nevertheless, I do know of one advantage we derive from bad memories (be sure to email me if you know more. I would love to learn from you) – It makes us cherish the good memories. A good memory out of thousands of bad memories is worth more than gold to its possessor. Make others smile today and increase the number of your good memories.

A religion of just being kind would be a pretty good religion, don't you think so?

But a religion of kindness and useful effort is nearly a perfect religion.

We used to think it was a man's belief concerning a dogma that would fix
his place in eternity. This was because we believed that God was a
grumpy, grouchy old gentleman, stupid, touchy and dictatorial. A really
good man would not damn you even if you didn't like him, but a bad
man would.

As our ideas of God changed, we ourselves changed for the better. Or, as
we thought better of ourselves we thought better of God. It will be
character that locates our place in another world, if there is one, just
as it is our character that fixes our place here.

We are weaving character every day, and the way to weave the best
character is to be kind and to be useful.

In the darkest night when hope is threatened. The night when fear took charge. Fear that makes one long for a new dawn that seems no where to be found.New dawn just wouldn't show up in these times. Perhaps, it fled.It fled along with many other things that should be there to comfort. It's a matter of time before hope fades,along with it fade's many other things. A thirst for a new dawn would do just fine in these times. A thirst that bring about a reason to stand. What would you stand for?

Even the reason to stand in these bad times, the reason that should bring about the birth of a new hope. The reason that should illuminate one's life and scare away the darkness in these tragic times, often fall fast asleep. It's only a matter of time before one forecast that the battle can't be won. The dream that should stay awake and protect in ugly times has put down its sword,taken off its helmet and gone to bed. Since the protector has decided go to the Wonderland, the duty goes to you. Money, they say, can not buy happiness. That’s true. Money may not be able to buy happiness but it can fix happiness. And that also is so true. When you worry about when and where you next meal is going to come, I don’t think that’s anywhere close to happiness, money can fix that. When you worry about how to avoid your child from being thrown out of school, I don’t think that’s a sign of happiness; money can fix that. When your land lord bullies you here and there for your rent, happiness is most of the time, on its way out; once again, money fixes that. Undoubtedly, money is somewhat essential in our lives. So I see no reason why it should be mistook for root of all evil. Actually, something else is, we just have to stop deceiving ourselves.

Wants, they say, are unlimited. That is true. It’s one of the characteristics of living things. Something like: as long as you live, your wants are unlimited. Like when you walk pass a Supermarket and something stops you from looking away from the diamonds or dresses. What’s that thing that prevents you from turning around and walking away? Something that actually makes feel like your happiness depends on them. You know what that is? – greed. When you fancy your neighbor’s new car a lot that you just feel uncomfortable without having something like that, then greed is in charge. When you get tired of your old house, and you start to picture how wonderful it would seem if you had a bigger house, then greed is in control.

On a normal ground, greed is good. There would be no reason to work if we all don’t have desires, don’t you think. It is the thing that accounts for things we do. It gives reason to hope for big accomplishment. It gives reason to dream big. It is also this same thing that makes people feel their happiness depends on the things they lack. Something like: more cars to ride will be amazing – more clothes to wear suite my personality – a new castle to live will be just perfect. To be frank, nothing is perfect. Increase in their demands come increase in taste which eventually leads to uncontrollable greed. That is where the problem lies.

This in turn make victims feel like more money to spend enhances their happiness. They get crazy about money. They think that their happiness depends on it, thus they are ready to get it even if it takes hurting others. The fear of losing their money and going back to their early stage comes in. This is where it all begun, which later leads to sleepless nights. So you see why most people think money is the root of all evil.

Do me a favor and ask anyone that tells you money is the root of all evil these questions: why do you work? They should reply with something like: I work because I love my job. To that person, ask again: can you work for free? You just note that person’s reaction. It should obviously denote – NO

I see no reason why we should deceive ourselves. We just have to face the fact that money isn’t the problem. Learn to control your greed and make this world a better place for everyone to live.

If there’s any subject I have fallen in love with, that would be “Mathematics.” I guess I will have to give my kudos to my subject teacher in high school. She’s been the major source of my passion for this subject. Wait a minute! I am no mathematician so don’t start throwing questions at me … heheh

Like I said earlier, my kudos goes to her. I really don’t understand how she managed to blend us to fall in her line. We used to be really lazy, so she would tell us: ‘if you tend to be lazy, I will give you more work to do.’ And of course she did. A fair, gentled in the face lady, with such a mean attitude, sometimes I wonder if God gave her that look to disguise in public.
