Winning123: You folks rejoice over nothing. Aren't you suppose to do self retrospection. Your region has been producing the resources since amalgamation yet it is backward than the north and SW in terms of development, education etc. I have never seen people who are patrinizes themselves as Niger Delta people. I also expected this to enegize us, not to be rejoicing on lost glory. What a shame. Excellent and Apt comment. No one could have said it better the way you just did. |

Noblecx: Given by what you've said about southwest could the same be applied to Present SE as they have the industrialization, Onitsha,Nnewia and aba comes to mind, they have oil where Anambra, IMO and abia comes to mind, and lastly agriculture they have yam, cassava, cashew, rubber, rice, maize, vegetables all in commercial quantities and in adding to it they have coal in commercial quantities...
SE is more resourceful than the whole SW bro.. Yet a lot of your indigenes domicile in SW much more than the SW people in your region. Can you explain this statistics? |

Winning123: You folks always think the north will suffer if Nigeria breaks. On the contrary it is the south. With experience of Nigeria we can see that it is not only resources that drives development but common goal, aspirations and shared values. The north are more United and if Nigeria breaks are more likely to unit under same goal and aspirations. However the south with their ITK mentally will struggle. The leaders will fight for position and will want to build dynasties for themselves which is the typical mentality of southerners. Please note I am from the south before you spew hatred. Lovely comment from you sir. Why I said the North "May" not "Will" suffer because their level of governance, resource control and leadership is extremely poor, not necessarily their natural resources and food commodities which I believe they have in immense amount. Only few among them possess foresight and visionary goals unlike the south folks. Hope u understand? |

SairikiDurri: This is why today yorubas do not believe in restructuring.
See your ancestors occupying Lagos because of Niger Delta oil

Your leaders know that they can't exit without Niger Delta oil. Smh. You are deviating from our original discussion but since you start it, let me perch on the aisle with you. I believe in restructuring and true federalism. Even recent news shows APC governors in southwest calls for it in order to have resource control hence every states will look inward to feed herself instead of everything going to federal government, then redistribution to states. The restructuring structure works fine for USA where california generates 30 percent of the country's income (about $ 560.80 billion). If such can happen in Nigeria, generally I see the entire south (most especially South West) prospering but the north may struggle but that doesn't mean they won't progress with time. So, hope my comment has done justice to your strife and bitterness? |

SairikiDurri: [s]so now it is the 1940-1965 era that Yorubas and Hausa were making it big?
Nigga shut dah fck up![/s] Dude, is this the best you can come up with to counter my statement? Your level of reasoning is too timid. Come up with something constructive and let's dialogue. Your comment depicts that of a 2yrs old kid. |

So 1914 statistics till when oil was discovered shows that SS/SE has been entirely feeding Nigeria as said by the OP judging from his comments. See here is the thing, can we have statistics of 1940 - 1965 to show which region contributes the highest GDP in Nigeria? Cocoa and groundnut were the mainstream of our economy as facts can be seen on Google search.
These people, una no dey tire? The 1914 and perhaps oil boom sales from your region of which derivatives were and still been paid to your corrupt leaders who ate all the money to themselves hereby building mansion in Lagos and abroad is not our doing. |

Na wao o! All of them na African countries. Am not surprise though, black people are naturally greedy and selfish. Anyway, I will like to see Nigeria among top 20 richest country in the world. amaechi1: And you will be happy to see nigeria on the list? It clear to me now that, poverty is not only lack of resource but lack mental stability! Thanks for your response to that ungrateful soul. I don't know why some Nigerians always derive pleasure in seeing this country among worst/poor performing nations in the world. Could it be their hatred for the current administration, witchcraft spirit or lost of hope? I just don't get it |
