Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick can now walk with his head high after the Federal High Court, Abuja on Tuesday withdrew cases of fraud brought against him.

The court decided following an application by the federal government to withdraw its case against Mr Pinnick and four others facing $8.4 million and N4 billion corruption charges.

The federal government had in May arraigned Mr Pinnik and four others on 18 counts for allegedly diverting the sum, which was given to the NFF as fees for appearing at the last Russia 2018 World Cup.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has told Nigerian players at the U23 Africa Cup of Nations to give their best as a place in the senior national team could be available.

A team of 13 players and nine officials touched down at the Cairo international airport at 9 pm local time (8 pm) Nigerian time aboard an Egypt airline, CompleteSports report.
