⚡Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi:

Why was the Strait of Hormuz closed from the very first day?

Because it had already been planned that if the Supreme Leader were targeted, the Strait would be closed immediately.

⚡A large fire continues to burn at the DB "Schenker" Logistics warehouse on the southwestern outskirts of Kyiv.

NASA FIRMS data indicates that it has grown significantly over the last few hours, as firefighting efforts continue.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports that the fire has been contained, but that it spread to an area of approximately 100,000m², engulfing two large warehouses.

They can do it but it would be a huge waste of rocket fuel if it is not carrying nuclear warheads

No amount of rocket fuel spent on killing Americans is a waste.

⚡Iran's recent attacks on U.S. bases in Jordan have caused mounting damage.

Over four strikes in five days, missiles and drones wounded dozens of U.S. troops, damaged multiple Black Hawk helicopters, and struck key military facilities.

The deadliest attack came Friday at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Azraq, killing two U.S. soldiers, leaving one service member missing, and injuring four others.

Two days earlier, the same base was hit, wounding about 20 troops.

Another strike damaged a significant number of Black Hawk helicopters at a base in eastern Jordan, while an earlier attack hit a residential facility, injuring several service members.

U.S. officials say the attacks demonstrate Iran's growing ability to overwhelm or evade U.S. air defenses.

⚡The New York Times writes that the US government is caught between expanding sanctions on Russia and protecting the global dominance of the dollar.

Washington fears that excessive reliance on financial sanctions could push Russia and other targeted states towards alternatives such as the Chinese yuan.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent believes that sanctions work best when they are targeted and tied to clear deadlines, warning that measures left in place for years without changing behaviour can produce unpredictable long-term consequences.

⚡UAE says it’s deeply concerned about the recent regional escalation and is calling for:

— An immediate halt to hostilities and de-escalation.

— Maximum restraint to avoid the region sliding into worse violence.

— A swift return to negotiations.

— Safe, uninterrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, calling it vital to the global economy.

— An end to strikes on civilian infrastructure (schools, hospitals, desalination plants, energy facilities, etc.), calling such attacks a serious violation of international law that can’t be justified.
