⚡Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is set to travel to 🇻🇪 Venezuela, 🇨🇺 Cuba, and 🇳🇮 Nicaragua on 11 June to sign multiple bilateral agreements boosting political, economic, and scientific cooperation.

Raisi is also expected to hold meetings with local and Iranian businessmen to provide official representation for free trade between the three allied nations and 🇮🇷 Iran.

Iran has successfully built a strong foundation of trust with the three Latin American governments that are also victims of 🇺🇸 US sanctions.

⚡🇷🇺 Russia has informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that the distribution facility of the ⚛ Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, previously associated with the atomic power station, was targeted by kamikaze drone attacks.

Today, Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with RPG rounds were intercepted and neutralized by 🇺🇦 Ukrainian electronic warfare (EW) systems while approaching the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

⚡🇬🇧 British Royal Air Force fighter jets were twice scrambled over the course of 24 hours to intercept 🇷🇺 Russian aircraft flying close to NATO airspace, the Ministry of Defence in London said Friday.

RAF Typhoons based in 🇪🇪 Estonia and 🇸🇪 Swedish Gripen fighters were on Thursday evening scrambled to “intercept” a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft and a Su-27 fighter jet “flying close to NATO and Swedish airspace”, the ministry said.

The 🇷🇺 Russian aircraft “were not complying with international norms by failing to communicate with the relevant Flight Information Regions (FIRs)” but “remained in international airspace and flew in a professional manner”, it added.

On Friday, Typhoons were scrambled again to intercept two Russian transport aircraft flying south from mainland Russia towards Kaliningrad, a Russian exclave wedged between NATO members 🇵🇱 Poland and 🇱🇹 Lithuania.

The Typhoons were later “re-tasked to intercept” two Tupolev Tu-22M bombers and two Su-30 fighter aircraft, also flying south from mainland Russia over the Gulf of 🇫🇮 Finland and the Baltic Sea.

The Russian aircraft were again “failing to liaise appropriately with local FIRs”, the ministry said.

🇫🇮 Finnish, 🇸🇪 Swedish, 🇵🇹 Portuguese and 🇷🇴 Romanian aircraft were also involved in escorting the Russian aircraft, according to the statement.

⚡🇨🇳 China welcomes naval alliance between 🇮🇷 Iran, Gulf states.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on 5 June praising the plan for forming a joint Iranian and Gulf-led naval force.

“[China] welcomes the formation of a joint maritime alliance with the presence of Iran, Saudi Arabia, the 🇦🇪 UAE, and others,” ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said.

“Such an alliance will enhance security and stability in the region,” the Chinese official added.

On 2 June, the commander of Tehran’s naval forces, Admiral Shahram Irani, announced that the Islamic Republic is looking to form a joint maritime alliance with the UAE, 🇶🇦 Qatar, 🇧🇭 Bahrain, 🇮🇶 Iraq, 🇵🇰 Pakistan, and 🇮🇳 India.

🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia is also interested in “heading in this direction,” Irani said.

“The countries of the region have today realized that only cooperation with each other brings security to the area,” the navy chief said, adding that the region will soon be free from any “illegitimate force.”
