Here are the main bank charges that Nigerians are expected to stop paying from January 2026 under the new tax reforms. ✅ Bank fees to be abolished The ₦50 Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) on transfers above ₦10,000 will be scrapped. Stamp duty on salary transfers (i.e. when employers transfer salaries to employees) will no longer apply. Stamp duties on transactions involving government securities, treasury bills, bonds, and shares will be removed. Stamp duty on documents for processing stock/share transfers will be abolished. The ₦50 fee on transfers between accounts within the same bank (intra-bank transfers) will be discontinued. These reforms are part of the implementation of the new banking- and tax-related laws (the Nigeria Tax Act 2025 and related legislation) signed mid-2025 by the government. |

Lifestone:He intentionally did not, because he can't defend what is not. Once he defends, it means he have agreed that the law used in charging him was actually in existence. But according to him, no legal law, so no defense |
popp:No, cases are officially started from the exact day you were served or dated on the law suit, not when you were arrested |
📅 Key timeline The Law used by James Omotosho: The TPPA 2022 repealing the 2011/2013 terrorism law took effect on 22 May 2022. After that repeal, the legal history for Kanu: On 13 October 2022, the appellate court acquitted him and discharged the charges. On 15 December 2023, the Supreme Court reversed that acquittal and remitted the case to trial under a fresh prosecution. The “new trial” (de novo) resumed after that — meaning the case was being tried after the repeal of the 2013 law. Legally, a fresh trial cannot rely on a repealed law — only ongoing cases can. Since Kanu’s final trial restarted after the repeal, using the old law is constitutionally weak. In my view, the conviction is legally questionable and vulnerable on appeal. |
Sheikh Gumiis just cashing out daily |
What will happen if Nigeria resolve these Nigeria-Development Questions: 1. What will happen if Nigeria finally removes tribal favoritism and adopts a strict merit-based system in all government appointments? 2. What will happen if Nigeria reforms the judiciary so court cases, especially corruption and election cases, are concluded within 6 months? 3. What will happen if Nigeria allows full restructuring so each region controls its resources and contributes taxes to the centre? 4. What will happen if Nigeria creates state police and community policing with powers to handle local security directly? 5. What will happen if Nigeria rotates the presidency strictly among all zones without manipulation or ethnic dominance? 6. What will happen if Nigeria permanently bans religious extremism and enforces equal treatment for Christians and Muslims in government decisions? 7. What will happen if Nigeria stops oil theft by prosecuting the powerful individuals behind bunkering instead of arresting only small criminals? 8. What will happen if Nigeria creates a national population database that eliminates fake identities, ghost workers, and multiple BVNs? 9. What will happen if Nigeria gives full autonomy to local governments so the governors can no longer steal their allocation? 10. What will happen if Nigeria implements a compulsory national peace and unity program between tribes such as Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, and minority groups? 11. What will happen if Nigeria reforms the military and police to remove tribal bias and promote based on competence only? 12. What will happen if Nigeria reduces the salaries of politicians and redirects the money to security and education? 13. What will happen if Nigeria introduces electronic voting and electronic transmission of results to end rigging? 14. What will happen if Nigeria stops open borders and fully controls illegal entry that contributes to banditry and terrorism? 15. What will happen if Nigeria officially adopts decentralised electricity generation so every state can produce its own power without federal restrictions?

This becoming like a serious joke . Meanwhile, is this the best Tinubu can do? Or does it mean it means he wasn't prepared for the job |

He that has ears, let him hear. Meanwhile, they are deaf. |
Igirigimercenar:The answer is because, yerobas are divided into 2 equal part, Muslim and Christianity. So dey can't afford to split into 2. Secondly, more than 3-4 of the southwest states has been converted to northern states. So they feel enslaved, confused, indecisive and completely inference. So they preferred that we all die here. That is the most highest and wickedic spirit. They are naturally treacherous |
That was because Kanu believed that, you can not plead for what does not exist. He believes that the law used for his conviction has been revealed. So no one can probate and retrobate at same time. Once he plead, it means he agreed that the law used for his conviction was still active |
Marrying underage girls is no longer enough for these northern paedophilias, not they have migrated to having canal knowledge of innocent school girls by force through stealing. Because I know these girls are been distributed and then returned to so many of the Alhajis for canal knowledge. Honestly Trump needs to hasten his steps |
