⚡Col. Richard Black: NATO and the United States are making a decision to up the ante—we will escalate. We will take more and more perilous actions and take this thing right up to the edge of WW3. The Schiller Institute is trying to mobilize public opinion to bring a greater air of caution. By preempting the most aggressive and most reckless people we have managed to ward off some of the worst excesses during this war. If we can continue doing it successfully then perhaps peace will come and we can reconsider our foreign policy and some of the very grave mistakes that we’ve made recently.

⚡Nuclear-armed countries hiked spending on atomic weapons arsenals by a third in the past five years as they modernised their stockpiles amid growing geopolitical tensions, two reports showed on Monday. The world’s nine nuclear-armed states jointly spent $91 billion on their arsenals last year, according to a new report from the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). That report, and a separate one from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), indicated that nuclear weapons states are dramatically scaling up spending as they modernise and even deploy new nuclear-armed weapons. “I think it is fair to say there is a nuclear arms race under way,” ICAN chief Melissa Parke told AFP. Wilfred Wan, head of SIPRI’s weapons of mass destruction programme, meanwhile warned in a statement that “we have not seen nuclear weapons playing such a prominent role in international relations since the Cold War”. |

Simeonjoe1:Are you talking about the same Russia that stood man to man against the Nazis and fought like hell? The same Russia that lost over 21 million troops fighting the Nazis and still did not pause the fighting? The same Russia that killed 80% of the Nazis and captured Berlin, forcing Hitler to commit suicide? The same Russia that defeated the mighty Ottoman empire, twice. Annexing Crimea? The same Russia that defeated Sweden when it was a world power and annexed St.Petersburg, at the height of Swedens power? The same Russia that fought Poland for 13 years until they gave in? The same Russia that seized the Kuril Islands from the mighty Japan? The same Russia that currently occupies former German-Polish territory, Kaliningrad? The same Russia that occupied 90% of the Eurasia continent? Make sure you Google every single thing i just typed before you argue foolishly. |

Masterviolence:Bro sanctions on Russia are useless. I'll tell you why. Countries like Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan have all seen their trade turnover with the EU increase by over 300%. Both oil, electronics, gas, automobiles, grain, micro electronics. Who do you think they're purchasing these goods for? Their small population? No Parallel imports by Russia is the reason. Do you now think these countries with their greedy leaders will abandon a once in a lifetime opportunity to get rich buying things from Russia and selling at double the price to EU and vice versa. For the sake of the US? No one is that stupid. At least not in the aforementioned countries. |
