It does lend credence to estimates that the number of terrorists in American sleeper cells exceed 1000.
These were estimates of arrivals. Since it's assumed that the number of native-born radicalized nutjobs is statistically insignificant.
Apparently, those are conservative guesstimates.

It would appear the only thing stopping the jihadists from pulling the trigger on a mass-casualty multi-event attack is the expected response.
Otherwise, they essentially have the capability to carry out 9-11 level attacks.
If terrorists are this pervasive in the US. Then it's open season in Europe.
Sadly, I don't think this attack will be a wake up call.

Jihadists have a larger footprint today than in 2001.
Afghanistan. Syria. Libya. Sudan. Somalia. The poorly-secured Sahel.
Qatar. Saudi Arabia. The GCC. Pakistan. Now Turkey are state sponsors of Wahhabi terrorism.
They have more money, nuke and nuke arrangements, and influence than they did 20 years ago.

Yet, somehow the West are focused on crippling Russia. China. Iran.
They consider these jihadists as partners in their confrontation against the Axis.
The geniuses created the conditions for murderous savages to thrive because they are obsessed with preventing a multipolar order.
Now, we're going to get the multipolar order, emboldened terrorists, and less safety.
Nice work Deep State!

To folks in the multipolar camp. Keep your head on swivel. Wherever you are.
Even China is having car and stabbing attacks.
Going forward, intelligence agencies are going to focus more on bloc geopolitics, leaving headroom for the terrorists to slip through the cracks.
