All you need is Book a Paid Hotel or Accomodation. Make sure u have your yellow Card. They will ask for BTA in Nigeria not in south africa
Thank u Benjamite...minimum of how much do I need to have with me...is it better to change naira to rand over there or do I get rand here from nigeria black market...Thank u

Thank u for the information, I appreciate.. But my concern here is what if I pay for the hotel and visa is deny ?

Also can I make a lump sum of like 400k into my salary account and use the statement at the embassy ? and for how long does the money stays in the account before my application.
As far as money comes in and out of ur account, I don't think there will b an issue with lump sum...besides I paid in a lump sum of 600k and spent about 50k from it on 1st of January and submitted my application on the 11th...
For the paid hotel reservation fee, I think u shd discuss with the hotel manager and see if they hv a refund policy incase u don't get a VISA...I think a good hotel should refund with at least 2 weeks notice from u about contract termination....try n discuss with the hotel manager...

Good day to good people of Naira land. Please I need your advise on how to do hotel and flight booking without going through any agent.
Use Google and check hotels around the city u r going to, u will see alot of hotel adverts from mainly the agents like bookings.com, hrs.com etc....u can check out the beautiful hotels and rooms on their website but wen u select a hotel of ur choice...Restrict ur search to the hotel using same Google, visit d hotel's website, make ur reservation online, get the hotel's phone numbers from the contact section to confirm ur reservation , give them a call from Nigeria...with this u can confirm the price u saw online, they will send u a Performa invoice with the hotel's account number by email...well for safety, I had to get a friend in SA to help me make the payment and I transferred back to a Nigerian account which is cheaper or you can wire straight to the account... But try and get someone over there to help you confirm the details over there to avoid Internet fraud...pay by urself and don't send any money to any individual's account..u can insist to speak with the manager all d time if possible...I hope this will help

Flight reservation is not stressful, Google the airline of ur choice, follow the prompts, fill in ur biodata, departure date, returning date, but select to pay later...u will receive an email confirming your booking reservation...Remember to restrict ur search to the main airline companies and not Agents for example wakanow.com

Hello Housemates, I love u all..the collective information from this group helped me in obtaining SA VISA without any stress or use of any agent..Huge thanks most especially to Staggerlee and keneking...Keneking came to my rescue even wen I was confused Wat to fill infront of the vfs officer...I had just relocated to a new apartment 1 week before I submitted and was confused if 2 weeks is enuf to suffix a permanent address convincingly...I filled in the 2 weeks and submitted alongside everything requested on the check list...It wasn't stressful....just explain any unclear information on your letter of introduction and you will be good...I submitted 2 weeks old flight reservation from SAA...I requested for 5days single entrance but was given 3 months Visa + multiple entrance...I believe this is enuf to encourage people that want to do it alone without using any agent...Good luck

Keneking:
1. How long have you been staying in your permanent address? If in Nigeria, state how ling you have been living in that address.
2. Are a resident of Nigeria? If yes, enter, Nigeria
3. If ECOWAS passport, enter, ordinary

Trust this helps.

read fifty pages back you would find ur answers, i dont know why people are lazy to read previous pages, we shall call NAIJAOBI to give you akamu. Studing abroad involves a lot of reading and research if you cant start now I wonder how you would do when you reach Germo. I got my first admission last year and made silly mistakes thats why i am still here and when i stumbled about this trend less than a month ago, i had to read 480 pages of part 1 and this part so as to avoid mistakes in the future.
Oga, i have been reading joor, most people did theirs in lagos...am only asking for anybody that did his fund transfer in abuja so that in can use the bank, beside i havent seen anywhere from the first tread where the mentioned a translation office in abuja... i only asked for a recent quick guide if you can help...Thank you and believe me, i read this and even trend for indians because i have a terrible brick wall to break..

Brother, are you advising or are you seeking for advice? Which one?

As regards the letter from your school stating your yearly expenses, I advise that you check your school webpage for information on living expenses per year. Print it out and show it to them at the bank as it will have the school logo on it (I faced this issue at Stanbic and they were fine when I showed them that, even though I eventually paid with Union Bank).

Go and translate your letter with the affidavit at a high court: this kind of thing doesn't require the whole wahala of contacting your language school.
Huge thanks Bro....i will apreciate if anyone knows where i can do the translation in abuja.

hello house, please i need help from you guys or someone that has funded his deutsche account lately from a bank in Abuja. was at GTBank today and i was told i cant use the form A except i get a letter from my school stating how much i will need monthly for one year..this was said to be based on CBN latest policy and all documents must be in english..the bank officer in charge refused to honour the letter from deutsche bank except i buy EURO and pay into my dorm account...my enrollment letter was written in german and i was told to translate them backed with an affidavit before it will be accepted..this requirement is too much and i dont know how fast the language school will issue me another enrollment letter in english..ADVISE:please if your interview is around the corner and you are yet to fund your account, please do so soonest..banks have started hoarding the form A...as at today none in GTBank abuja and they said CBN has not produced enough to supply to them and they advise we should be fast with it that very soon, it will be scarce...

Please I need to find out if the embassy collects ur international passport after the interview along with other required documents...I have seen people write that they were called to come with their international passport and 3 months insurance 2 weeks after the interview. .does it mean people go home with their international passport same day of the interview .. Thank you

you've answered yourself already. wink I know for sure that they don't grant language visas anymore, even met someone who came to pick up his documents because his application for language visa was rejected on the day of my Interview. From thread 1 to this thread 2, I don't seem to recall anyone who was given a language visa. You can still try though, maybe you'd be the first successful Nairalander afterall there is always a first time for things to happen. Anyway, try checking TU Clausthal. I think they offer a program which has a language course which you must pass as it is a prerequisite to the main course which is taught in German only. You'd have to look for the exact info from thread 1.
My advice: Apply for an English taught program. (You neva pass English exam finish, na German exam you wan passhuh) If you so love the German Language, then am afraid you'd have to invest a year learning it intensively at Goethe.

Thank you @ twinkle1...I have gone through it, but I need to know if the embassy issues a year VISA freely...is it easy after u have met all the requirements, from all i hv read on this thread, it seems they prefer people to take the language course in lagos if that's the only reason I wanna travel.
TravelRe: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by xtonuns(m): 11:38am On Jul 31, 2015
Please my people, I need your expert advice on this. I plan to pay for an intensive german course program and will prefer to take the lectures in german since language is learnt fast in the environment it is spoken. I have intensions of taking a professional german course for an advanced training after this. I don't know if the embassy will grant me a VISA to travel for the German courses since I don't see the possibility of taking the language courses in Nigeria. I want to book an appointment after payment on this with the embassy. Will this work. Thank you all for your expert advice in advance
