lately I am facing an abject poverty to the extent that I cannot afford anything even pure water to drink I cannot buy.
then this useless man is telling me to go sell pure water in the streets, I swear I would rather die than carry a bucket of pure and wander across the streets hawking it like a someone that is cursed.
I am not against selling pure water but there are businesses that everybody knows they are for children and young adults, as 34 year old man anybody that see me hawking pure water will think that I am cursed or life is teaching me bitter lesson.
I would rather die of hunger.

Everything scatter when area boys chase me from that spot wey I dey sell. Dem say I no pay "aso." Wetin I go use pay? Customer no dey come again. My small savings finish for leg.

Na so hunger start to follow me. At first, na just normal hunger wey dey make belly talk. But as days dey pass, na different thing start.

Hunger no be just when belly dey pain you. Hunger be like poison for your brain. As I wake up this morning, my hand just dey shake. I look for anything wey I fit sell, even my last trouser, but who go buy am?

I waka under sun, from Agege to Oshodi, beg anybody wey get small work. Dem just dey look me like say I be fly. My eye don begin see double. When I see person wey dey eat bread for bus stop, my mouth just full water. I shame myself, but I still look that bread like say na film I dey watch.

Hunger don make me forget say I be man. Yesterday, I see one little pikin wey dey drop piece of puff-puff for ground. Before I even think, my body just jump am, pick am, brush sand comot for am, put am for mouth. Na so I cry that day. Man wey get secondary school certificate dey pick food for ground like chicken.

My friend, hunger na the most dangerous thing. E no just weak your body; e dey kill your mind. E dey make you think say to steal na better idea. E dey make you look at your brother property with bad eye. E dey remove the shame wey make you human. Right now, as I dey type this with my last hundred naira, I no even think of tomorrow again.
