PoliticsNigerian Youths Are The Reason Most Young Politicians Fail by younger73(op):
Our youths of today shout of marginalization, but in all honesty they are the cause of their own predicament. We shout but we rarely do what is needed to change or correct peoples perceptions. If you owned a profitable enterprise would you just hand it over to your children because they are your children, or would you not train them to be able to manage the business. It is while you are training them, you would know which of them has the passion to carry the business to the next level.

We live in a society where the ex-governors and our grand fathers see the senate as their retirement home. The senate is a no go area for the young, but faith played its own game and gave us Senator Elisha Abbo of Adamarwa state. As a 41 year old man elected to the senate, he carried the dreams and the desire of a generation whom wanted to show our doubters that we belong there. As we were still high on his success, he was accused of assaulting a woman at an adult sex shop in abuja. Was it true, false or just youthful exuberance, but the youths kept quiet and decided not to hold Elisha Abbo accountable for his actions. As Elisha Abbo failed us, we as a society have failed the younger generation coming behind us.

Executive Chairman Fuad Atanda-Lawal is the chairman Ikoyi/Obalende LCDA in Lagos State. He is or one of youngest chairman serving in Lagos state. As a young man serving in one of the major suburbs in lagos, you would expect him to show the other chairmen how its done. But he is busy running a one man show and if they say buhari is deaf in one ear, Atanda-Lawal is deaf in both ears. He is showing that he is not matured for the office, busy riding power bikes, enjoying in cubana night club with his exotic cars, porsche, Benz ML, Lx 470 and an array of exotic cars. He has bought property within and outside the state,in portugal, spain, No 6 glover rd ikoyi, northern forshore and other areas in lekki. Many of the youths in the Lga and especially in Obalende are angry with him. He tells people that he is in the property business while he is the custodian of the peoples money. The youths need to hold him accountable and let him know his faults, while there is still time for him to change.

Another very influential person is DAVIDO aka (omo baba olowo). With his fan base and playboy life style, davido is very influential in and outside of the country. With his bad boy image that seems to work for his brand, the only comma is his open affinity to cultism. Many youths and even bystanders die from cultism regularly. So when someone this big identifies with it, then what type of message do we pass when we don't condemn it. He has the right to freedom of association, but he should know many will follow his foot steps either positive or negative.

The youths need to put checks and balances in place, so that their movement will be done in a wise and successful manner.
