It's what happens after now that is the koko.

It's not every agency that flaunts corruption during recruitment like the ministry of interior. Those ones once you apply, that's all. You won't hear anything about the recruitment again till when another portal opens up

alot of people weren't shortlisted. Most of my friends weren't shortlisted.

It's 100% worth leaving your job
You will have to manage for like 2-3 years before starting the foreign posting

it's just a CBT. Nothing is sure yet but Foreign affairs can't be compared to your current teaching abi lecturing job. I mean Foreign affairs is better.

Exceptions are when you are posted to a good department
You will get to enjoy your stay only when you start your abroad posting

what is the chances of getting posted abroad? I already have a job, that earn 204k a month in a state own college. As a non teaching staff. Is the foreign affairs ministry worthy leaving my job for ? I studied political science?

The Ministry is Foreign affairs not Local affairs. People come to Abuja to address their issues, or they can travel for local trainings to state Civil service that's all

Maybe you just graduated from uni.
If you have a family member that was/is a civil servant, ask them questions before you start shouting. After salaries and wages commission are done with their own, ministries and MDAs will consolidate their own with their charts. Agencies under the same ministries don't collect the same salary so imagine how long it will take to consolidate everything. This is a significant increase, likewise adjustments will be significant.
Budget also has a role to play.
Why do you think labour unions aren't complaining? Because they know how it works.

wait soo alot of government agencies have not started paying the new minimum wage?

How is it now a crime to aim higher? What if he is married with children? Do you think 204k can do anything for him and his family? In this race, it is survival of the fittest. Been grateful to God does not mean that God has asked one to remain stagnant. If you are not ok with where you are, move higher. Read "who moved my cheese" and you will understand.
