Accreditation of delegates is yet to commence at the PDP National Convention scheduled to hold on Saturday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Reports available indicate that PDP governors and party leaders are locked in a closed door meeting as consultations continue over decisions to proceed with the convention or cancel it, paving way for a Caretaker Committee that will unite the party.

PDP delegates and party members are reportedly still in their hotel rooms and hotel lobbies awaiting news on the direction of events.

Immediate past Senate President, Senator David Mark was spotted a few minutes ago arriving Port-Harcourt for the convention. This is even as the Jerry Gana led faction of the PDP was holding its parallel ‘non-election’ convention in Abuja televised live on AIT.

President Buhari is being represented by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, at the swearing-in ceremony of President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equitorial Guinea today. The country's presidential election held last month. The inauguration is holding in Malabo, the country's capital. The Vice President returns to Abuja later today.
