A famous city socialite, Fred Ajudua, who was arrested by the police last Wednesday, has been released.

Ajudua’s lawyer, Lekan Ojo, who confirmed his arrest to our correspondent on Saturday said he has been released on bail.

Ojo disclosed that Ajudua was released to him and Senator Ned Nwoko on Saturday evening.

The senior lawyer who said Ajudua was arrested on May 1st,2024, fumed that he was kept in custody by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force without being arraigned in court or released.

He added that as his counsel, he had to fly into Abuja to ensure the rights of his client were protected.

According to him, it is constitutionally wrong to detain a person for more than 48 hours without arraignment or releasing them on bail.

Recall that it was reported that Ajudua was arrested by the police and detained in Abuja, over land fraud and forgery.

Ojo, however, debunked the report and explained that the petitioner exaggerated and blew the dispute between himself and his client out of proportion.

He said the disagreement between Ajudua and the petitioner had nothing to do with fraud or forged documents.

He explained that the arrest was over a land dispute that has no ties with forgery as allegedly reported.

Speaking with The Punch, he said “Yes, Ajudua, was arrested by the police but it has nothing to do with fraud or forgery or fake signature on the land papers or any documents.

“The petitioner only exaggerated the situation. No documents were forged or anything.

“It is purely a land dispute and he’s been detained for four days now which is against the 48-hour constitutional stipulated or allowed.

“I am in Abuja now to fight for his right as his lawyer,” Ojo said.

Confirming Ajudua’s release, he said, “In an alignment of forces, myself and Senator Ned Nwoko are here and he’s just been released on bail to us”.

Toooh! Na una go tire. As far as I could remember, Fred Ajudua has been balling since the era of I.B.B.

Well grounded Fraudsters like Ajudua that could defraud a whole Chief of Army Staff (General Ishaya Bamaiyi) is not a small fish that should be handled with kid gloves.

The problem of Nigeria is deeply rooted. You say you want to fight corruption and eradicate crime, yet you’re only plucking the leaves and cutting some few branches instead of using bulldozer to excavate the entire root of the “Tree of Corruption” and then set it ablaze.

Fred Ajudua has powerful contacts within & outside the corridors of Power.

Do not forget that he was once a practicing Lawyer.

There’s no Court that could put away the likes of Fred Ajudua in this Country.

As one Court is sentencing him, another will be setting him free.

Guess who went to get his bail? Senator Ned Nwoko. Now, you should begin to get the picture.

For people who get money to hire better lawyer, if na poor man now, e fit dy police cell for more than a week without being charged to court or released on bail.

I wonder, do we even have public defenders in the country?

They slammed him with those charges because it seems he has a reputation in that. That name only rings 419 bell and the city of Asaba in my mind once I hear it. I don't know why though. Perhaps the police are as biased as I am.

Going by all his criminal rendezvous found out on wiki he ought to be in jail a long time ago. I found out that he has a long and wide criminal history both home and abroad.
He is a case study or an example of a Big Thief and Criminal who is difficult to jail because he has several buttons to press in his favour unlike other fraudsters, petty thieves who has no button in government to press when convicted

Lol..... EFCC won't take his matter serious now, based on his antecedent and charge him to court, if it's all these small Yahoo frogs now, they would be jumping like squirrel. Ajadua Fred is one the originators of G-work in this country and he is enjoying special treatment to the level of a Senator going to receive him after being released. Well what do I know, this is a proof that almost all rich men in Nigeria didn't make their money the clean way.

He can be detained for more than 48hours if they had cognisance from a court of law.Make lawyer no come twist story here to confuse lay people. Prison is nothing to Fred Ajudua..a serial scammer.Nigeria is a failed state..dudes like that are supposed to be sentenced and locked up in solitary confinement.
