I think the spending of a thing is part of Naija girls living in Nigeria, girls abroad think different maybe it's the environment.

Growing up my dad took me on dates and opened the door for me. he would buy me flowers when he brought for my mom. He always treated me like his princess. I am sorry but if a dude cant deliver like my dad then he is not worthy of my time.

if you mean "spending" as in taking me shopping and buying whatever i want, then no. I dont expect a guy to buy me anything before we are truly in a relationship. it would be nice if he did but it wouldn't be expected of him. but once we enter the relationship, well that is a whole different topic.

Maybe i misunderstood what the poster was talking about.  I thought he ment spending money in the since of taking a woman out and showing her a good time.

Why would a woman just agree to be in a r/s with a guy based off of no information.  How am i going to get to know u unless we go out.  True there are free things we can do together, like the park, musuems, outside concerts, free movies in the park etc.  But a guy has to be creative to think of plan and put together these moments.

I am certainly not going to be sitting in some guys house that i dont know and i am deff. not going to have him at my house w/o having dated him for a while.

So no you really dont have to spend any money to take me out to dinner or a movie but you will need to spend time which to some is the same as money.

i think its a girl thing which if you ask me is no all bad. as a guy a feel useful and maybe in charge when i spend for my woman. the problem thought is that lots to women take things too far and then they simply become irritating
