The Anambra Gov. Peter Obi is back in power. The court of appeal in Enugu rules that Peter be reinstated as Gov of Anambra State.
What is happening in Nigeria? Impeachment has turned to a sort of recess for the governors grin

This is good for our democracy and goes to show that Nigeria is not a lawless society as many misinformed people would rather have us believe.

At least, we have seen many court rulings that went against the interest of OBJ and it is encouraging.

Democracy is begining to work in Nigeria.

I think APGA can replace Etiaba for Peter Obi as its Guber Candidate if not the best thing Obi can do for the people of Anambra is to ensure Andy Uba does not win the elections. After then I will now start celebrating.

R u sure they will not appeal to the supreme court?

The only thing we need to wait for now is a statement from Police IG Ehindero, that he is waiting for a formal report from the attorney general before re-instating Obi back to power

Why this is a welcome development, I still can't understand why people think Obasanjo
is behind every single attempt to impeach or probe anyone in Nigeria, it beats me. With
the level of greed and "do or die" politics that is entrenched at home, why most people in
this forum can not accept the fact that it is possible that there are too many over-zealous
politicians all over the country that are just itching to take out their governors so that they
become next. How else can one characterize a situation whereby 99% of the opposition are
simply made up of men/women who lost out in the power struggle within PDP - not because
they have a different agenda or political ideology?

The other day, thieves vandalized a brand new radar system that was just installed at the
Lagos airport which of course was intended to enhance aviation safety and security of the
Nigerian airspace - this was barely a month after it was installed! I suppose we can blame
that act too on Obasanjo. Oil bunkerers will intentionally rupture pipelines knowing fully
well that their actions will most likely roast hundreds of fellow hapless, greedy, or ignorant
citizens. What do they care as long as there is money to be made? After all, Obasanjo is
there to absorb all the abuse or condemnations that will follow.

Same goes for the recent EFCC's list, all of a sudden it appears we are so concerned about
fairness than whether it was true that our funds were looted or not. Some claimed
to have been supporters of Ribadu until this latest list which did not include Akala (I believe)
or Andy Uba's name, etc., therefore the EFCC should cease. For some, Ribadu is the enemy
threatening their beloved democracy, not the professional looters and their accomplices who
are directly responsible for their bad roads, no power, no water, petrol, etc.

The Nigerian sense of fairness and justice is certainly unique when it comes to dealing with
their oppressors. With this mindset, the country will more or less remain the same 10 years
from now, and will continue to become the big embarrassment and laughing stock it is today.
We must cry for fairness but by God, if any individual is found to have emptied the treasuries,
let them face the music! I don't care if Obasanjo's friends are not indicted, if they are found
guilty they need to pay for their crimes against the country!

Iyke-D, spot on. Nigerians could be likened to the animals in George Orwell's animal farm. There is every reason to blame Snowball for their every travails. He ruined the wind-mill, the water wasn't tasting well because of him, he met the chickens in their dreams and aborted their eggs; for every ill luck, it was Snowball, but when the water tasted good "oh! glory be to Napoleon"

In our depraved psyche, nothing happens at random. There is a sinister motive for every action. If Obi had lost today, by now, people would have written thousands of threads to pour invectives on Obasanjo. We should learn to look a little bit above our brows before pointing accusing fingers on the usual culprit- the president.

@Iyke-D & arzorji

I totally agree with you guys
I will only defer a little with suggesting that with this mentality we will remain like this in the next 10years, I think even in 30years we will get no were thinking like this.

The polity is corrupt and moribound!Civil service derelict, educational system decrepit, health system dead, manufacturing sector non-existent!OBJ bares blame for all!The government lacks focus, vision and ideas! Why after 8 years do we have to be told that the myriad of problems can't go away overnight, but they keep getting worse. OBJ is the culprit no doubt!
