I currently reside in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos state.

The issue i have is with Ikeja Electric the power firm appointed to distribute power to my community.

For more than two weeks now power distribution to some streets including mine has been interrupted.

Findings on the problem says that their staff and some people in the area were involved in an altercation
because of estimated bills. This led to physical fighting.

Now Ikeja Electric decided to throw the whole area in darkness instead of resolving whatever issue it had with them or prosecute whoever is responsible for the assault on their staff.

Now the question is " Is it right for ikeja Electric to put everyone in darkness because someone fought with her staff?"

Most of those suffering this power outage now are innocent of whatever happened.

If you were in my area, what will you do?

I am thinking of suing them if power isnt restored.

We must continue to test the court process in Nigeria just as Wike is doing with VAT issue and Miyetti Allah is doing with open grazing bills in the south. Thats the only way to test limits and establish boundaries in a country where power mongering is a culture.

Sue their arse and if you don't have the wherewithal, consult like minds and sue. It's the best line of action.
