Seriously, their rants have been making me laugh since. Why does the idea of having to buy or subscribe to something enrage them so much? They then turn around and want us to pay for their music etc. grin

They better start paying Daddy Elon.

How is Twitter forcing them? Isn't it the same with the music analogy you made?
If you want the blue tick, you pay for it. If your choice is to do without it, then you don't pay. It's the same thing.

Twitter is forcing anyone who wants to be recognized to pay for the service (that was normally free for all in the past)... that would be the same thing as artists who had their music for free on youtube/spotify etc to now say that you MUST buy their album if you ever want to listen to it.

Why should a perk be free?

The OP is right. Twitter pays salaries and has bills. If they feel like they want to charge for premium services, they have a right to.

I don’t agree with Elon Musk on many of his decisions but this one, he is right. He might have gone about it the wrong way, but he is right.

Twitter was running at a loss, and Elon must regain his money in the long run. They will pay for it eventually.

these perks were free before he bought Twitter, so i would understand why people are against paying premium for service they were getting for free.

Well it depends on how you choose to see it.

The platform is still free for all. You want special features, pay up!

but you do understand that these features/perks were free a few months ago, right? dont you think it is fair for people to complain about it?

if people must pay then let them get some type of UPGRADED Servcies or something, but there is nothing different between the free old version and this new paying version.

It has a bookmark manager and some other perks. I get you, but the only main revenue is Ads, my gripe with Ads is that woke companies in the US can force Twitter into some bidding all in the name of keeping their Ads.

If everyone threatens to pull ads unless their woke agenda is accepted, then that leaves us in a bad position. A subscription-based model is the only way I can see a platform like Twitter making re-curring payments for profit in the long run.
