Greetings Nairaland

Please I’m currently in the Uk while my wife and kids are Nigeria, I’ve got 4 plots of land in Gwagwalada FCT and 5 million to start with, I’m thinking if I should start block industry or life stuck farming (goat, cow or bird) any one of them, because I don’t intend staying long in this Uk, the life here is bleeped up.

Please experts in these area what would you advise.

If you want to go into livestock please flee from poultry, it can ruined your life in a twinkle of an eye. Anything other than poultry is okay.

Ok used to do poultry before I left and I know how difficult it is but it’s still profitable I don’t know for now

Poultry farming isn't for the weak heart ... You might get heart attach when the birds are falling sick...

But for the location, I would have advised you go into apiary. Regardless though if not for fulani raiders, I would also have adviced you get a manager, set up your beehives and make deals with several rural villages to let you put up your hives in their jungles. You don't have to really pay them. A little royalty token of 20k and a promise of 20% profit margin is enough. This will even encourage them to keep an eye on your hives for you.
.
A box of beehive can easily fetch 400k per year on the good side or 200k on the bad side. Since you don't feed bees, 50% of that is your profit on one hive but in the second year 95% of that is your profit.
.
25 good hives should be enough to make you come back home and focus on your business.
.
Apart from the problems I mentioned earlier, beekeeping can be technical bro.
.
Go the Japanese way. Youtube is your friend sir

Is it a developing area? If yes then that's a good idea.

The issue about rearing goat and ram is provision of adequate meals for them without a Normad or fulani. You need to think of another business suitable for that 4 plot, that your wife and kids can help you manage.

They will grow up learning the trade and that's a good way to become young managers

Except your wife has technical skills in these areas, don't start the business hoping to make intense money from it right from the get go. I support ruminant production because its long term. Just keep multipying the goats until you can come down and manage things yourself.

You can also plant trees. They take some time (repaid time) to develop and in some years, you can come down and start harvesting and selling.

If your land is in a developing part of Gwagwalada, you can try block making but make sure your wife is business savvy. I can't emphasize that enough because she's the only one you can trust. Any other person will run you down.

Other than that, invest in an existing business with proper documentation or just put your money in piggyvest jejely.

How about employing the Fulani to the labouring work so they can provide both security and there farming experience and my family manage the business
