Rt Revd Nedison Foreman,Bishop, Diocese of Jalingo, has charged Christians to run their Christian race by avoiding any weight of sin in it smallest unit.

He made the charged in Awka on Thursday during a sermon titled "You must win" for the arrival service for 2nd session of the 13th synod of the church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, province of the Niger, Diocese of Awka.

Foreman advised Christians to guard themselves with basic principles of life that would guide them to shun sinful lives.

He enumerated the basic principles of right living to include discipline,determination,dedication,patience and sacrifice.

" if Christians strive to live in line with these biblically injuctions they certainly will be far from weight of sin that may rob them eternity.

" if you desire eternity with God you must not take what does not belong to you or what you are not licensed to take.

" A true Christian must not falsify his work age, is not right for Christians to work with certificate earned by another.

" Christians need to run away from movies not edifying,alcoholism or addiction leading to poor behaviour," he said.

Foreman advised Christians to be dedicated in things of God and develope self control good enough to fight sin when it comes their way.

He urged faithful not to lay back in things of God as people who lay back always lay waste.

" There is a price to win when you run the Christians race with fear of God, your generation will be blessed even years when you are gone to meet your marker," he said.

The president of the synod, His Grace, Most Revd Alexander Ibezim, Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop, Diocese Awka,urged all delegates to be committed to the program.

Ibezim urged the faithful to hold tight the sermon preached by the guest preacher Foreman and ensure they leave the four days program changed and enriched.

Newsmen reports that the synod is hosted by Awka Central Archdeaconry. In Church of The Pentecost Awka.

reports that the Theme for year 2024 synod is "Running The Christians Race : implications for the church in perilous times.

Newsmen report that 527 faithful where in attendance for the opening service while two Archbishop and 5 bishops.

The church has prepared well for the 4 day programme which is expected to end on Sunday by putting down security officers on ground, road safety Corp members and medical team.

The delegates for the synod were drawn from 22 Archdeaconries from 92 perishes.
Two Archbishop and 5 bishops were on ground at the arrival service.
The synod on Friday will feature Holy Communion to be celebrated by His Grace The Archbishop Ibezim assisted by Ven GC Molokwu,Silas Ike,PC Oranye, CAC Chinwuko, N.Ik Ugoagu,Chris Ogbodo, and the Deacons.
The bible study is handled by The Most Revd Israel Amoo, Archbishop, province of Kwara and Bishop, Diocese of New Bussa.
Saturday Ven Uche Ofonakara will conduct the service.
High light of Saturday is the Acceptance of the charge, protocol and launching of the Archbishop's charge.
Sunday the end with Eucharistic thanksgiving service.
